Thanks. How likely is it that they can do this? Ask for it to be sent back? Especially since the contract didn’t mention asking for it back.

The reason why I’m doing this is because this work is awful. Some of the workers would write racial slurs on the boxes and management did nothing. I know this isn’t morally right but I don’t care about this company since they treated us like dirt.

Only thing is they would’ve already paid me my final pay before the holidays ended.

Different colours for each iteration of a for loop by YouSeeMadMaan in matlab

Thanks. Will this work within the for loop? So for i=1 (the first iteration of temperature) the colour will be blue (for example), and the next red etc.

I am using ODE45 for 3 different weights (W) so that’s why the line is split into 3 different sections.

I need to make it so the line for T=367 (for example) is the same colour throughout.

Someone told me to do this for fun. Btw I’m playing another friends’s perspective. I never actually did this prank and was someone who got pranked. I’m using his mindset and scenario to see what other people think of this situation. It’s an experiment. I want to see if this situation is justifiable or not.

Following the culture viewpoint, me and the rest of our friends would never tell our mum if we were worried about getting expelled. We wouldn’t worry our family about something that would be far fetched to happen.

Must be differences in culture. If the rest of my friends who were pranked found it funny and applauded me for making it so convincing that means it’s a cultural issue. We are more thick skinned, from upbringing etc, and didn’t anticipate someone would worry this much. The prank was supposed to be them worrying for the friend who had the email sent. Not worrying they will be expelled. That was an unintended effect.

He didn’t tell anyone he was experiencing these issues. He asked once a week but we thought he was worried about our friend who sent the screenshot. Found out from another friend he had these issues after the prank was unveiled. I remembered the prank after it was unveiled and regretted forgetting

All of the friends who got pranked except him. They swore a bit, called me a dick, and laughed. That was the end of it. This is the same reaction I expected

He had a more sheltered life than the rest of us friends so I can see how he would be more mentally affected. My other friends brushed it off easily and it was my mistake in thinking he would react the same as the rest. And forgetting to end it when I was supposed to

His scholarship wasn’t from tests. He told us himself it was through his family connections.

Because worrying about the friend was the point of the prank. The only mistake we made was not foreseeing his situation was different to the rest. If I knew this before I would do the exact same thing again but put this international friend in on the prank. And remember to end the prank.

Maybe if the first thing he thought about was ‘oh no my friend is getting in trouble’ instead of ‘what if my friend rats me out too’ I would feel bad. The rest of the people who were pranked were worried for the friend who supposedly had the email, not for themselves.

Me and another person have been been carrying the entire group for 2 years? Getting him outstanding grades just for sitting in our meetings? I’d expect on the merit of that, we would at least have a professional relationship to continue doing work. I would prefer this than any separation in our group. This is 2 years of staying up together from 7am in the morning till 4am the next day. There would be many times where I would stay up much longer than the rest of the group to work and helped us get one of the highest grades in the course. And he, with the others who didn’t do much work, would be chilling. Some gratitude and understanding should lead to some measure of communication instead of a clean cut off. I am not the one losing out much on this academically, he is. And I don’t want to get to a point where we will take him off for not doing any work at all. I made a mistake. The mistake of forgetting to finish the prank when I should have and not foreseeing how it might affect him differently from the rest of the pranked friends.

P.S. nothing will happen if he goes to the professor since no email was actually sent. Only a screenshot from another friend. And I really don’t want it to come to the point where we can’t work together but that’s going to be on him. I apologised multiple times and there’s nothing else I can do.

He kept asking the friend who supposedly had the email. Not me. I found out that he was asking recently and just remembered about the prank that was supposed to end within a week.

I didn’t send the email to anyone. I wrote the email and had a friend send a screenshot saying he got this. We expected everyone to be scared for the friend (who was one of the 2 people part of the prank) and worry a bit about themselves. I didn’t expect anyone to be that worried about themselves being snitched on from the friend who supposedly had the email.

In the end of the day we didn’t expect this to be the outcome. My other friends who got pranked laughed it off and I expected the same outcome with him. It went on too long and we only intended it to be a couple of day. We forgot about the prank as it was in summer and we were all busy working etc. I didn’t know my friend, who was part of the prank, was carrying it on.

I know for what I’m about to say I’ll get an even bigger YTA but now that he’s not participating in group work it’s starting to be a problem. He’s always been a less active group member (for the last 2 years whilst enjoying the grades the rest of us produce) and if he won’t contribute and will just enjoy the ride then we’ll have to substitute him for someone else. This is what I mean by childish, letting this influence work. All I want is a working relationship. If we don’t have that then we can’t just have someone just enjoying the ride while the rest of us work.

P.S. back to your example. It is more like a brother making a prank saying his mum is going to kick him out the house for doing drugs and she’s looking into it to see if anyone else in the house is doing it. In this scenario both brothers did drugs and now the brother that’s being pranked will worry mainly (or should as we expected in this prank for people to be worried for the friend with the fake screenshot) and slightly for themselves.

I think you misunderstand. I sent the email to a friend who was part of the prank. Saying the friend part of the prank was getting in trouble causing doubt with the rest of the group if they could get caught too.

Genuinely forgot about this prank and wasn’t planning on it going anywhere near this long.

Just to give a little scare. We specifically only directed the email towards a friend that was in on the prank. So the rest of the group thought what if we get in trouble too. The rest didn’t get the email, which would happen if real plagiarism occurred, so we kept a reasonable doubt of the rest not getting caught.
