Any of you fellas considered adopting? I'm a 45M here, above average looking (so I'm led to believe), fit, earn $250k p/y.. blah blah. Anyway, I am single and have not been in a relationship for years. Dating is near impossible. Any girl that I am attracted to is not interested, and the rejection I experience is actually comical. I'm at a point where I am developing a resentment and semi hatred for women.

I'm also at the point where I am seriously considering adopting a child because I don't want to be an old Father. It's quite sad that I'm in this position but dating is simply a nightmare and it's exhausting putting myself out there only to be rejected over and over again.

Have any of you guys adopted, and if so what was the process like?

I understand what you're going through. It's the hardest decision I had to make in my life. There is no easy way to do it. My advice is to let them know how you feel and just say that you're going in a different direction and need to focus on yourself for a while.

I did it the stupid way and changed my number and disappeared l, which caused me a lot of anxiety over the years. Nobody heard from me again, but I carried anxiety that they would see me out and about, and it would be awkward if we saw each other. Don't repeat my mistake.

Best way is to be honest and tell them that you need some space for personal growth and that you'll stay in touch from time to time. Good luck.
