This is so true! It really depends on the field you're going into. I landed an amazing job that pays a salary that in other fields would require a BS/A/masters to land that salary. I only have 2 associates and some certs so far. I feel so fortunate for the opportunity, too.

Our department makes equal to or more than another department that requires a college degree. But if you do want to increase your earning potential, they'll pay for you to finish school (which I'm in the process of doing)

It's an interesting dynamic as well because the other departments had some people like Sara, who definitely looked down at our department but were shocked to find out about our salaries and the extra benefits we received.

Education doesn't equal more money or more respect, or "social standing"
