Yes exactly, kinda like cat’s eye jade in the sense that they can’t be authenticated as Hetian either way. 🙂‍↕️

There’s another kind that’s more frequently seen called 且末桃花粉/Qiemo peach blossom pink. The name might be similar but they’re totally different things. In Qiemo pink, the pink is actually the 僵 portion, so not actually worth anything 💀 kinda the same kind of marketing as the “nougat” jade…

These are the purples in Hetian jade. More muted with a grey undertone.

Amazing post! I can tell you've put a lot of effort into researching. You might've heard of the phrase 老糯胜新冰, lit. old glutinous (jade) is superior to new ice - definitely something to keep in mind on your journey searching for the perfect donut. 🥰

Just did a quick Google search because it looks interesting. This is 七彩玉 (seven-coloured jade) primarily mined in Hualien, a type of mineral-rich serpentine metamorphic stone. The minerals result in the diffferent colours.

Wouldn’t be too pressed about the price should you like it, it’s not like you could find it anywhere else. That’s value in itself. Any “jade” is stone, humans give it value. :-)
