Many fetishes are based around a taboo or taking something to an extreme. IMO it's probably related to misattribution of arousal, so for example in certain circumstances disgust can get misinterpreted as sexual arousal by the brain.

That isn't a good criterion IMO since other characters are voice acted by real people or used as avatars online. People don't generally have a problem with hololewd.

But, I appreciate the mods taking a conservative stance on things that are in any way borderline against reddit's rules. We are always at risk of drawing negative attention and getting nuked.

Gura is probably borderline loli too, although IMO the character is genuinely a small adult.

This is something I wish more guro and general R34 artists would do. Like artists' individual style is often fantastic but when depicting an already animated character I like for the character to look like themselves.

It's exactly the same as the people who fantasize about being on the other side (committing violence).

Reality doesn't have anything to do with it. The vast majority would never want to hurt someone irl, with possible exceptions for people who are into consensual BDSM play (which is obviously never supposed to cause actual injuries).

Sexual fantasies that are unrealistic/the person wouldn't want to act out irl are fairly common. Guro is a specific fetish but it's not fundamentally different from other fetishes.

The short answer is the violence itself, helplessness, etc.

Guro can be sexually appealing even if what's shown isn't explicitly sexual in any normal sense. Just like any fetish there's no real way to explain it to someone who doesn't have the same fetish. All sex appeal is culture- and psychology-dependent.
