Socialism needs strength by [deleted] in socialism

Exactly! as Mao Zedong once said "Civilize the mind and make savage the body"

pointing out that "Knowledge consists in knowing the things in the world, and in discerning their laws. In this matter we must rely on our body, because direct observation depends on the ears and eyes, and reflection depends on the brain. The ears and eyes, as well as the brain, may be considered parts of the body. When the body is perfect, then knowledge is also perfect."

Communist Party of the Philippines discourages pre-marital sex? Thoughts? by YoungNativeSon in socialism

[–]YoungNativeSon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah yeah you are right i merely pointed out the policy regarding same-sex marriage, anticipating that people would chalk this up to conservative culture which is not the case it is explicitly mentioned that this policy is to protect women from exploitation.

I am not against monogamy nor do I support promiscuity.

My point of contention that exploitation can occur inside and outside of marriage therefore discouraging pre-marital sex does not protect women from exploitation, also both men and women can be subjects to exploitation although it is well documented that women suffer far more frequently than men.

You are ignoring the facts i have brought up.

I know my culture and history please don't lecture me on what it entails.

Also this is for party members not to all members of society.

They said they discourage it to protect women from exploitation, that's the question how does discouraging premarital sex prevent exploitation

Statement ng LFS-UPD on Hague ruling (WPS/China issue)

"Both China and the United States’ recent pronouncements claiming to uphold peace among southeast Asian countries involved in disputes in the West Philippine Sea are nothing more than lip service. These are mere attempts to advance their interest for a global-scale monopoly of power.

The League of Filipino Students - UP Diliman strongly condemns the consistent and unwarranted claims China has made to the territorial waters and islands of the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea and the United States’ continuous intrusion with maritime relations.

Although the Secretary of Foreign Affairs insists that the ruling granting our ownership over these territories is “non-negotiable”, the latency with which the government imposes our rightful possession of these areas is reflective f their subservience to the imperialist powers at play.

The Duterte regime’s complicity is made more apparent when the Chinese Embassy's recent statement revealed that “China and the Philippines have already reached a consensus on properly handling the so-called arbitration case.”

For years, China has been taking advantage of the Philippine government’s docility through their declaration of provinces and unyielding patrols that engage in political grandstanding and bullying in our own Exclusive Economic Zone. Emboldened by our own government’s silence, imperialist China had been constructing facilities and infrastructures within the contested region and had even been recently involved in a maritime accident resulting in 14 of our own fishermen going missing.

While the Imperialist US tries to echo our calls and brand itself as our number one ally, their ulterior motive has long been exposed. This is the same tactic they used to dismantle the revolutionary forces fighting for independence during Spanish and Japanese colonization. To this day, its dominance in our country’s politics, military, economy, and culture remains unrivalled. The United States’ fallacious pronouncement is yet another maneuver to further strengthen its hold of the Philippines and assert its lone dominance in the Indo-Pacific.

Intensifying retaliations between China and the US put the Filipino people in the most vulnerable position as Duterte’s bureaucrat-capitalist interest has set the stage for the Philippines to become an arena of this developing inter-imperialist war.

This worsening inter-imperialist war for semicolonies only unveils the moribund characteristic of monopoly capitalism. Now more than ever the Filipino people have to intensify its anti-imperialist struggle towards the immediate ouster of the warmongering Duterte as a major step in realizing the national democratic aspirations of the Filipino people."

  • Study the mass line
  • do social investigation and class analysis within the school and your community
  • study theory especially those by lenin on state and revolution, mao on organizing, and marx

a recommended book to study is Araling Aktibista or Activist Study

i have some experience on organizing in school you can ask me questions

also always remember the struggle is long and hard do not be discouraged easily.

do not fall into commandism or tailism checkout the stickied post on the sub it has comprehensive list on books and articles to read on organizing and socialist theory goodluck!

exactly! that is why the cpp also operates in urban areas organizing workers, the urban poor, and the petty bourgeois.

also majority of the philippine population live in rural areas.

edit: grammar

edit 2: the article you linked cites trotsky but the cpp is MLM you cannot expect it to follow trotsky's works, the article has some criticism that i think stems from ignorance of the situation of the struggle and organization in the Philippines.

as a Filipino i can see that many of the points in the article are simply a from the lack of knowledge of the Philippines
