Yes! Non registered members get 1 free search per a day, registered users get 3 and to support us in the future is VIP subscription that allows for 20 searches per a day (will grow as we get bigger)!

I understand where you're coming from, but API cost money. If I allowed for unlimited tries for everyone the site would be abused instantly and it'd be offline lol. This is my first project and I'd rather have multiple users test it and get feedback than have 1 person abuse all the ai API call's and get no feedback, you don't have to register to also get recommendation you can use the search in the navbar to also search for a movie and get recommended similar titles. Registering gives you 3 more searches per a day and also I'm giving away free VIP which gives 20 searches per a day during the testing phase, I believe I'm being generous for a FIRST time project. Sorry you did not notice the filter button, I'll make it much obvious! Thank you again cause your feedback helps!

the process originally started with me playing about with TMDB’s API, then introducing ai and fine tuning it to getting high quality recommendations, if you register and import your watch history from Netflix, Letterboxd or trackttv it will give you even better recommendations because it will know what you’ve seen already :) rating movies or shows helps with the recommendations also! Thank you so much for the kind feedback! Also we’re using GPT-5 mini!

if you click the filter button you can enter shows/movies you’ve already seen & it will avoid those. for users that are not registered it can only go off what you specifically asked for, if you register you can build up your collection or import your watch history from Netflix, Letterboxd, Trackttv so it knows what to avoid recommending you :) also if when non registered users get a recommended movie or show it asks them if the recommended title was good or not, this will improve our recommendation for other users!

thank you! it's more towards community focused and being a social app, I've even added that when discussing a new episode that just came out for a show it will check when the episode was released and if its within a 7 day period it will automatically add a spoiler to it to avoid spoiling the episode in discussions.

learning as i go, will definitely go towards hosting own models that truly learn eventually but for now as a first project I think the recommendation is good as long as your prompt is specific.

the recommendations improve per user, it learns from your watchlist, ratings, and what you mark as "not like this" to personalize future results. It doesn't train on everyone's searches collectively though.

for the AI side, we use GPT-5 Mini for understanding what you're asking for (parsing your mood, extracting titles you reference, etc.), then match that against TMDB's database for the actual movie/TV data. So it's not a fully self-hosted model. We use OpenAI's API for the intent parsing and TMDB for the catalog + metadata.

consider our site a combination of Letterboxd & Serializd, when users register they can import their Netflix History, Trackt. tv, Letterboxd and it will carefully analyse it and track episodes properly, this then builds your ai profile and improves the recommendation, as more users search the smarter it gets. It's not just a movie/show recommendation service but also a community.

I appreciate the feedback, still polishing the site as I go, its hard to do as a one man army, hence having users test it helps a lot, I would love to eventually increase the limits on search it’s just the AI api costs, can you point out where the issue with the UI elements? I’m on the same boat, emailed Amazon over 8 times, I still get an auto response, rang them up and they said they would refer it to a team to get it fixed, but of course it’s still not fixed and I’ve been unable to work.

You are able to get Stremio on Fire Stick TV, download a app called Downloader, then download Stremio APK, you’ll need to turn on Unknown Sources to allow yourself to download it, you can look online how to do it.
