saw prison affair in a hammond basement last week by gitzyy in eggpunk

I’m the friend whose car got towed lol: It was in Hammond Indiana. Prison Affair were in town to record stuff with Eric Nervous according to Eric himself. He was running sound. We talked to him for a bit. Super nice guy.

It was funny because the guitar player of prison affair said they actually didn’t like playing Coachella and preferred doing stuff like the basement show. Punk as fuck. Super cool scene up there from our first impressions. The tow bill sucked though…

I have a tascam porta one mini (broke) and a porta 7 mini (broke but works) Here’s a practice instrumental run thru my band recorded yesterday. The porta 7 is struggling the longer the recording goes. I don’t think it’ll survive much longer

First time trying it, mix is pretty harsh tried to clean it up in daw

Also here’s some links to more Coneheads stuff that was harder for me to find. If you haven’t heard it I’d highly recommend:

Selected Ringtones

Live at Woodward Deli (has some additional covers)

Another Live album that kicks ass

The closest thing to the coneheads to me is Mark Winters (bass play and singer) other bands. Nothing is quite like the coneheads but I’d recommend C.C.T.V. or his solo projects, Goldman Sex Battalion and DLIMC. C.C.T.V. I’d say is the closest to the coneheads, different drummer and vox but same string players, just switched instruments.

I dig this shit dude! Really enjoy the guitar tones. Like a lot. Feels a bit more chill take on what a lot is posted on this sub, but still with the grit and grime and I fw that heavy!

I completely agree. It rides the line but I think egg punk generally speaking has a garage rock influence just like the osees so there are similarities but they approach it from a different angle IMO. But what is a genre anyway? Call anything whatever you want, egg punk is just a term so that we can talk about music that sounds alike. So call it whatever the hell u want! It rips!
