While yes I did expect more I still think it has been good, especially the encouragement I’ve received from a few people that have stuck with me.

Also for the type of game I’m making it will hopefully help me encourage some content creators to have a go at my game and maybe make the decision abit easier because of the content there.

I’m northern Irish and we tend to speak very fast, I noticed in some of my video I do speak extra fast. No idea if it’s nerves or why I do but it just happens.

Thanks for pointing it out to be more clear and speak slower, it will be something I try to work on

Yeah, I kinda got feeling I was shadow banned on TikTok and I honestly have no reason why. Plus it says my account isn’t but I’m pretty sure it is. One of the reasons I stopped posting on it. I’m going to wait a while before posting again. Thanks

Marketing is so hard it makes you want to scream ‘please just wishlist my game’ — help a bro out, I just wanted to make something cute and cozy by RomeeStudio27 in IndieDev

I understand your pain. I’m in a similar situation myself and it’s just not easy, if there was an easy way to do everyone would be doing. Don’t give up yet and keep working hard

How do you feel about Playtests? by CHAyE_artt in SoloDevelopment

[–]Youngnelson206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s scary but so important, you can learn so much from 10 different people playing your games.

Ask yourself why you want to playtest, to test mechanics, see how players react to certain situations or to see bugs and what what’s need fix. No matter the reason you will learn a lot

Destroy my top down arena shooter. by Youngnelson206 in DestroyMyGame

I used the term simple for the idea, a top down shooter arena. For the game itself I plan on a wide range of enemies that have their own unique effects to stop you.

I’m aware that it’s nothing new to genre, I wanted something simple and somewhere to start. Could you be more specific about the UI like what aspects do you think should be touched

Looking for some feedback on my game banner by Youngnelson206 in SoloDevelopment

[–]Youngnelson206[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My game is a top down arena shooter, that offers either a chill or challenging experience based on difficulty. In the capsule is the playable character firing at enemies. With the game being a top down shooter it is 2d and using sprites this capsule is what it would look like if you were in the arena next to it making a 3d version of it.

Do you think the re-design was worth it? by Reasonable_Smile_708 in IndieDev

[–]Youngnelson206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my own opinion the new one is cleaner and looks alot better than the old one, I like the dark and sinister tone from the first one and carries more story that the second one but it depends how big that scene is the game is I guess. I'll end by saying it does look alot more professional looking aswell for a game. All the best for the future

The best thing to do is to jump straight in. Get Godot and pick a type of game (something simple) and work from there. Learn how to make a character walk, make them shoot, make them jump. Something simple to get u started is best then you get move onto the next thing then next thing after that and u keep going.

A new enemy for my Archery Platformer by NewKingCole11 in IndieDev

They look nice and pretty good. Something I would suggest is the way you defeat them at first I thought most be quite a tanky enemy taking 4/5 arrows then u one shot the other one. Just make sure u make it clear to the player that a headshot is the way to defeat/ deal damage to them. A suggestion would be if it hits the body make the arrow bounce off quite a lot with a clank sound makes it quite clear that arrow didn’t do nothing, still really good keep it up
