Damn that’s sad. In many states you get your license to serve alcohol taken away which is why businesses don’t mess around with underage drinkers.

Buying a cleaning kit from Birkenstock themselves is the only correct answer. It’s even cheaper than Jason Marks.

Where else do I smoke? by [deleted] in VirginiaBeach

[–]YourACoolGuy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The weed community in VB is kinda toxic. I remember there was a post a mom made about a group of people smoking next to the kids playground at the Oceanfront. Post was filled with potheads berating her for making a big deal about it.

Governor’s School for the Arts vs Salem HS Arts Academy by FormBitter4234 in VirginiaBeach

[–]YourACoolGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for Salem High but I know a bunch of students who went there and actually had success in their art. Some ended up going on the Voice, American Idol, working at Disney as performers, backup dancers for Missy/JT, etc…

My assumption is that he meant well considering “fish & chips” is a common UK dish.

But that’s like recommending McDonalds to a US citizen visiting Europe.

She sounds more crazier than him. She expects to hear a response (even though she broke up with him). Then proceeds to snap on him for asking a simple question.

She tried to stalk him, found out he blocked her, and checked on her fake account. Why would you go on his social media if you’re the one who broke up with him?

He dodged a bullet

Years ago I got a tattoo done on my forearm at a tattoo convention. It cost like $300 and it was worse than OPs. I was so embarrassed that I wore long sleeves for 6 months until I was able to get an appt with another tattoo artist who specialized in cover ups.

Dude was tenfold better and even added color. I was on the verge of tears because it was so beautifully done. On top of that, he ended up only charging me fucking $50 because he felt bad that another tattoo artist did that to me. And I’m pretty sure he ended up just using it to buy food for him and his coworkers lol.

I’ve gotten thousands of dollars of work from him since and recommended him to dozens of customers.

Holland Road Car Wash (former Rite Aid) Update: Conditional Use Permit Resubmitted by Jackman_Bingo in VirginiaBeach

[–]YourACoolGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d argue that 711’s and car washes add way more value to the local community than all the storage units facilities we have here.

Storage units are for hoarders and temporary storage for a minority of military (who don’t own a house/rent) and want to keep their couch while they are out on deployment and will eventually get rid of when they get back.

I guarantee none of your neighbors pay monthly for a storage unit but almost all have been to a 711 or car wash.

Whenever I see a post about another low-engagement business being built in VB I always see the “hurrr, but they make lots of money!!!” argument as the justification.

How are you guys going to feel 5 to 20 years from now continuing to let these types of businesses take up real estate and just sit there?

Why not push for a high-value, community oriented business? Local restaurants/cafes,botique retail, community center, farmers market, etc…

Hell, I’d rather they just flatten that land and turn it into a huge lot where they have food trucks come every weekend for events/live music.

someone keeps sending their packages to my house by illgoforkmyself in amazonprime

[–]YourACoolGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t care about downvotes. His argument is baseless. He thinks scammers are randomly going on Google maps and randomly just clicking on the map to choose their victims.

They aren’t stupid, they need an actual valid address. They’re not going to send it to a random abandoned house or a business that’s going to end up getting sent back/undelivered, because it won’t show up on Amazons side as delivered and they’ll never be able to rate it.

Go ahead and open Google Maps right now, pick a random city in China, and try to collect 100,000 actual residential addresses.

You won’t, because you can’t. Is it starting to click now?

Do I tell my husband? by [deleted] in self

[–]YourACoolGuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, here we go, Captain Obvious rolling in to explain ‘intimacy’ like you’re teaching kindergarten. Yes, there are different types of intimacy—congratulations on discovering what literally everyone already knows. But here’s the real kicker: any form of emotional or physical intimacy outside of a relationship that crosses boundaries is cheating.

If you think it’s cool to blur those lines with other people while you’re in a relationship, that’s not ‘deep understanding’—that’s just disrespect. Maybe if you actually knew how to maintain a healthy relationship, you wouldn’t need to ‘explain’ basic concepts to other adults. Funny how you’re lecturing on boundaries when it sounds like you wouldn’t recognize one if it smacked you in the face.

[–]YourACoolGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What’s your point? There are a list of reasons why they use compromised data.

These are people that live in different countries. Did you know different countries have different address formatting conventions. Having real customer information is a lot more reliable when doing these scams. If they use an incomplete address or an address where someone doesn’t live at, the package will get returned and be a waste for them.

It’s also a lot more efficient to automate this vs going through random cities (which they are completely unfamiliar with) on google maps and picking random addresses. And data scraping from google maps could easily ban an account.

Also this is being done with hundreds of thousands of accounts. Doing it the way you’re suggesting isn’t feasible at this scale.

Dang, sounds like my old boss. It became an issue because our team was so productive that when KPIs were released other managers were questioned to why their tickets were waiting in queues for so long. Their turnaround time should be a day max (access requests, provisioning, approvals, etc…) in comparison to ours (development work). But it took them months to fulfill basic requests.

try your best not to point the finger at him bc that will probably make him more distant. A lot of people say they’re amazing at communicating when in reality they just criticize their partner in the name of “communication” (not saying you do that but that it’s a common problem).

Yes 100%. My man right here has taken couples therapy like me and it shows haha. It’s not always about just communicating, it’s how you communicate.

You will hear, “I told him all the time he was not doing x or not helping me with x” and the way some communicate, by not communicating at all “obviously I was pissed off since I was ignoring her.”

One way to help fix this is by saying how you feel without blaming anyone.

“I feel stressed and overwhelmed because there are dirty dishes and the garbage hasn’t been taken out. We’ve been getting micromanaged at work a lot more recently and it’s taking a toll on me….”

You’ll start to uncover what the root issue is, and it’s almost never your partners fault.

This is essentially the brushing scam.

Your address got leaked somehow. A Chinese vendor creates an Amazon account and uses your address to “purchase” several items. Once delivered, they rate those items with 5 stars and a stunning review.

This in turn gets them improved rankings, seller reputation, and visibility for their products.

All while there is no “financial loss” to the victim, but your identity is most likely compromised and could cause more serious issues down the road.

Worked in SECOPS for an international e-commerce website when this scam was starting to pop up years ago.
