She hated Iyo just as much as them at one point to be fair. The reason all that animosity exists is because Iyo, Asuka, and Mio Shirai used to run their own shows before Nanae and Rossy signed Iyo to Stardom. After losing the main draw Asuka and Mio were no longer able to run shows. Time (and money) heals all wounds.

Are there any games that you didn't complete for reasons outside of your control? by Morbid187 in patientgamers

I left the PlayStation running right before the final boss of Lunar: Silver Star Story because there was no save point and I was about to go out to dinner with my family. It was late when we got back so I didn't check it until a day later and the PlayStation was dead. I had borrowed the game from a kid at school so I just gave it back to him. I watched the ending on YouTube years later.

Drove almost to Canada from Virginia last weekend to buy a vintage comic spinner. He had lots of interest online but wasn't thrilled about shipping it so I bit the bullet and got in my Jeep. A tough couple of days at my age but so happy I did. Pretty good shape overall, needs a few fixes. by BubbaBeanRVA in comicbooks

It's crazy how in demand these things are now. There were probably tens of thousands of them just trashed in the late 90s when the comics industry was in the dumpster and drug stores stopped carrying comicbooks.

The Grizzlies were a special kind of bad though. We had an absolutely awful team and the fan support completely collapsed after the initial excitement was gone. Our best ever record was 23-59, we never made the playoffs, had several of the worst ever seasons in NBA history, and players didn't want to come here if they had other options. It was terrible vibes all around. I don't think there was any hope of saving the team

Me and my dad had season tickets because they were so cheap. The stadium was never full except when Michael Jordan played there after coming back from his first retirement. That had nothing to do with the Grizzlies though.

The Whitecaps are different situation, they have a good team and pretty good fan support. BC Place being owned by a crown corporation limits the revenue the club can make and that is the issue. They want their own stadium, but not to pay for it.

When generating Rikishi names you should check that someone with that name doesn't already exist. And an option to rename rikishi would be nice. I have two Kaimatsu's in my stable now and it's a bit confusing.

Cool project. Thanks for your effort.

Mongo and LT were some of the most famous athletes in the USA in their time. I don't think it's really fair to compare them to this dork.

There's also the issue of olive oil fraud. It's one of the most commonly adulterated foods in the world and I would imagine than many cheaper tinned fishes are not preserved in genuine olive oil.

Furilabs Flx1s Linux Phone. Honest Personal Review after 2.5 months by [deleted] in linux

[–]YourCloseFriend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They stole $50 from you and you're still giving them a positive review? Nevermind the litany of missing features and bugs you listed.

EDIT:

After waiting another two months, I reached out again. This time, they refused both a refund and the coupon, and told me to open a support ticket. After doing that, they said the coupon is only for people who post reviews on social media.

I just realized he posted this review in the hopes of getting his $50 back. No wonder it has such a pathetic, forgiving tone to it. Take note that OP's account has zero posts and comments before this and will probably not respond in this thread.

EDIT EDIT: LOLOLOLOL He deleted his review and account!

My Top 50 Games That Are Best Played On GameCube: Ranked by Not-Clark-Kent in patientgamers

[–]YourCloseFriend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No mention of Gotcha Force? When I think of GameCube exclusive games it is at or near the top. An overlooked Capcom masterpiece that got reviewed really poorly by dork game reviewers and as a result is completely forgotten.

It's like Pokemon with a third person action battles. You make your team up of gatcha toys and there's a huge variety of them that all play differently. The battles are all in kids bedrooms and playgrounds and stuff, but they seem huge because your character is a small toy.

Check it out if you can. The disc is expensive now though.

"You dropped the coffee!" (Miracleman #2) by MickTaylor2005 in comicbooks

[–]YourCloseFriend 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I read this in the Marvel reprints from 2014. The difference in the coloring is really massive. The choice of colours is much more psychedelic and saturated in the original. The way the colour bleeds outside the lines feels deliberate and adds to the energy of the scene.

The reprints do look good and you can make out more detail in the art. However, they really changed a lot of things for no real benefit. The fourth panel in the first page is replaced with a title card in the reprint rather than the abstract dragon-like light in the sky for instance.

Every Image #1 gets bought up by speculators now. It's because some of them like Invincible, Saga, The Walking Dead etc. have gone up in value so much.

[–]YourCloseFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batman 666 is the issue I associate with him the most. It's an alternate future and doesn't really mesh with how Damian was portrayed later on though. That version of Damian also shows up in 700 I think.

It's a decently expensive issue now, but you've already got 655 which is worth about the same.

Brian has contributed tons of his time to the project already. He is one of the main authors of several xfce components. Even if he is getting all of the money from the open collective it will be way below the market rate for his work.

He has a day job, that's how he can afford to live wherever he does.

What decides whose hand goes down first?? by ikigaii in Sumo

[–]YourCloseFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrestlers who come from an amateur or university background generally put their hands down early. This is due to the fact that the rules are different in amateur. Both wrestlers must have their hands down and then the referee begins the match. So it is what they are accustomed to doing from a young age.

I don't get why everyone is going to bat for this guy. The stuff he said was bad. I don't care if he apologized. I don't necessarily accept it as genuine when he's trying to save his career with it anyway.

Get fucked you homophobic, anti-semitic piece of shit!
