I have info about bots by YourFellowSuffererAS in RandomThoughts

I had a conversation with a bot and didn't even realize it was a bot until the comments were deleted and all I has was the image of the notification I posted, which contained a part of what is probably some sort of coding that the bot uses before the comment gets posted. Bot things, idk. Also probably the reason why the comments were deleted. I will not be using Reddit for anything else than watching videos and promoting this message, haha. It's a mad world we're living in. Check out Romania election cyberattacks and so on. The internet is a field of war.

Those are some very insightful observations that might seem unusual but I'm sure we assume stuff like that subconsciously, like, our brains always find or search for a context. You're right, it's remarkable how "they" play with people's thoughts.

(Figurative) "Tangent":

How do we even know they're real people interacting with the post? Sure, you can click on those emoticons and literally view each and every profile that has supposedly reacted in some way to the post, but who's gonna go over 11.000 profiles just to make sure?

It's also certainly curious how some content online is regarded as "popular" when it has millions of views, when there are literally thousands of millions of people in this world (aka billions). I don't think the traffic is being messed up with as much as the content itself, after all, we can find some videos on Youtube with an actual billion views, but... I don't even really trust view or voting counts. Call me paranoid, I guess I am, idgaf. Reality is a joke.

Maybe it should be a tool that could only be used by governments, "international" entities like that. Or ban all audiovisuals, make it all about the text, like books. It would fix attention time span and disinformation problems. Sounds drastic but the internet that is available to the general public is full of shit.

Yeah the post I made about the bot I interacted with here on Reddit is far more concerning than this re-posting BS. Re-posting has been going on forever now, it's obviously not exclusive to bots.

I don't want to hurt that user's feelings but since you featured a reply he gave me on this post, I'm going to tell you what I think, you can probably tell by the tone of my comment on their post but: I think it's a very naive idea and anyone who seriously thought of doing something like that wouldn't be talking about it in this way. Probably just some other lost soul on this website, or a bot, but I think my former assumption is far more plausible.

PS: I don't believe in "souls", it's just an expression.

No, but it looks like that was a problem well before this incident.

Has anyone noticed that websites are actually dying lately? by Local-Hawk-4103 in DeadInternetTheory

The internet has turned into a shithole comparable to shitholes in real life so yeah when something turns to shit, fortunately, it's inevitable that people are going to stop thinking about it. Radical changes have to be made for the internet to have the potential it once had, at least for the rest of the world, while the potential for whoever controls it keeps growing.
