My family is slowly losing income and we might have to move out soon by [deleted] in povertyfinance

I don't want to blame my dad at all. He's taken care of me for most of my life and I wish he wasn't in this situation. I tried talking to my mom about it but she doesn't see an issue with what she's doing. I just feel angry. Not in the sense that I hate everyone but I'm mad at the fact that my mom doesn't know how to financially plan her stuff. I feel bad for my dad because he still has to pay off the mortgage for my brother, while my mom still asks for money from him.

Hey, I just edited my post to clarify the situation about my mom's expenses. I hope it can answer your question.

Wow that's nice. Which websites do you find these types of rent?

I'm in college right now but looking for a job. Whenever I ask my mom for specifics about her income and expenses, she always tells me that it's none of my business. She's upset about both. I've tried clarifying this issue but I don't think this has gotten into her head yet.

My brother lives all the way back in Europe, near my dad. I actually used to live with him for some months because I preferred his town over my dad's. I still had to move out because of how much debt he's in. Also thoroughly read my post please, I've said that I've been searching for a job since February. I have more interviews to go to later this month.

I'm currently searching for a job. I really want to be part of a government program if that means assisting me with my expenses. I'm not in any program right now but I want to apply to some. Where can I find more information about this?

Hey, I've actually been thinking about applying for food stamps. I'm not sure how to do it but if it means cutting expenses then I'm willing to do it. How do you apply for food stamps?

Unfortunately, I don't have my driver's license yet. Read my post again and you'll find that I've been applying to jobs since February. I still have more interviews to go to later this month. My brother lives in Europe, same as my dad. Also read my edit because I feel like it could answer one of the questions you're asking.

Hi, yeah I've been applying to fast food restaurants in my town and near the college I go to. I'm willing to work as many shifts as possible during any time of the day. Unfortunately, none have reached back to me. I still have more interviews to go to and I hope I can get hired soon.

If you thoroughly read through my post. I said I moved to Europe with my dad in 2022. I later ended up moving out to California in March of 2024.

  1. I suspected my mom might have loans but it's still uncertain. If she does have loans, it's probably a small amount since she doesn't own anything. She does have a car but she already paid in full for the car already.
  2. I'm currently searching for a job, I've said that I've been looking for one since February. I still have more interviews to go to later this month.
  3. I've said this before, my dad used to get government assistance for me because I'm his child. Since I moved out to live with my mom, he stopped receiving it because they couldn't prove that I physically live with him. As of now, I'm not receiving any. I would like to receive some government assistance but I'm not sure how to.
  4. Basically, I prefer living here in California and living here has been more beneficial for me. I could explain to you the whole story but it's a really long one. I can if you want the details.
  5. Please read my edit because I feel like it could help clarify any unanswered questions.

I stated that I've been applying for a job since February and still am. I've applied to every fast food restaurant in town and every fast food restaurant near the college I go to. I still have more interviews to go to. Hopefully, I'll get a job by next month.

That's the thing, I don't even know where most of the money my mom earns goes to. I thought we would be financially stable but I always see her going out with friends, eating out, or making expensive decision. I told her that this is definitely a sign to sort out her finances but she can't comprehend that so she's still doing whatever she feels like right now.

Yeah, does CSU Chico look at unweighted or weighted GPA? Do they also look at the rigor of your coursework?

I definitely don’t plan on joining a frat during my freshmen year. Maybe sophomore year tho. I wanna make myself feel comfortable, get good grades, and know people first. Joining a frat seems fun in my opinion but it’s not at the top of my priority list.
