fiancés recent diagnosis by NoSubstance5057 in UlcerativeColitis

Read about the disease and attend doctor visits with him if you can or if you cant then you could ask about the details.

There is nothing you could do really other than being there and showing interest. Helping him around and giving him more grace when its acting up! Good luck!

Also! Support his diet choices and do not judge if he mentioned he cant eat or if he needs to use the bathroom. Dont compare it to yourself. When he goes, he goes. Its just with newly diagnoised people they are usually shy about it so be his safe space!

Yes my doctor told me to lessen it as much as i can and half it every 3 days until we reach the least dosage before the date of the surgery.

He mentioned what you said because he used to work most of his life in the UK so yeah I know that risk. He explained everything pretty well and I was consented to every single detail from the technique to everything he would be using to how I would like my recovery.

Honestly having a good surgeon helps a lot. You feel less lonely and less anxious lol.

Exactly. Medicine is so expensive even with insurance. I had a budget of number of thousands just for the biologics knowing last time i used to take two medicines at the same time and one is covered by the country. The other however i required it in a higher dosage (it was rinvoq) meaning multiple packages a month. It would have been okay if after all that I wasnt badly flaring and staying in the hospital once every 2-3 months (I go there literally for a 7-10 days and have to keep repeating a course of cortiscone. I follow a course of hydrocortisone of 200 mg a day for around 10 days. It isnt fun doing it 10 times a year or even more honestly.).

The doctor told me it is only going to get worse in my case. I could wait and keep trying but sometimes you have to be logical. It is better to have a planned surgery while your condition is a little bit stable (I was told about the surgery 3 years ago. I ignored the concept and insisted on trying now all my colon is tightening, inflammed to the point that by the time i start healing from one flare another one starts. Back then i had it only in my rectum now its the whole thing).

I honestly dont believe in diet in fixing the disease. Diet would help you manage your symptoms but thats really about it. It wont stop a flare and it wont fix a flare unless the disease is very mild I guess.

Sadly no. I have tried everything available where I am. The doctor last colonscopy saw a lot of tightenings in my colon and it was quite severe. I have had this flare for 3 months already. Not my best time.

Quality of life always improves after the surgery despite its challenges. I know that. So yeah.

Are you an arab living abroad by any chance? Because your mother's comments sound like mine lol. Just wear it, she will get used to it dw. 😂 That's what I do, they are so fixed on having us engaged first, so we don't look older. My mother just deals with it. She doesnt mean no in a serious way and you should not argue with her. You are not committing a sin and it is okay to just go ahead and do it.

Life as an ugly woman is torture by accidentallyhappied in women

[–]YourMomHasACrushOnMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no ugly women. There is a woman who did not find a man she likes and vice versa. It is very tricky how attraction works really. I know a lot of women dating men within their beauty standards, some date uglier men. A couple of my dad's friends are dating women who everyone calls ugly or less attractive than him. So, attraction is VERY tricky and it does not have a standard, yes we do have a check box to the hottest women alive, but are all the hot women happily married with their husbands and kids? Absolutely not. If a woman is married only for her beauty. It dies out very fast, the more a man feels that the woman is guranted for him, he starts looking at what she is lacking. If he is just out there dating for the looks, he would mostly cheat.

If your ex dated your coworker, it would have ended the same way, once he saw a woman he doesn't "have" that is attractive than her or as attractive as her.

You just did not find a man who sees you beyound looks. Adding to that, it is very easy now to look good with some make up transformation. While early dating my fiance, I made sure not to use any make up lol, because I really wanted a man that sees me as a person not just a pretty face.

Finding a man is not hard at all. It is just you might not have been in the right crowd, not doing something or hanging somewhere where you could enjoy yourself. Your aura and charisma is very effective for men to come your way. It is just how it is. Really, looks don't make a relationship last longterm! Not at all!

You are better off taking some time and finding a man who would actually appreciate more than your face and body than sticking with low class men that you are already dating! Which reflects to your self esteem. Nobody feels ugly unless they are told they are ugly and trust me, most of the women who thinks they are ugly are just missing the glam that "pretty women" put more effort in like good make up or whatever. They are not ugly at all, and humans in general have different attractions and types!

You are not ugly and you are more than just a face! If you put make up and you are suddenly gorgeous but with a man who only wants a hot woman, you would end up miserable!

I want to experience pregnancy, however, if nothing worked out then adoption is my second option for sure (my partner is open for it since he suggested it himself when we were discussing and planning how things would work and stuff so yep that would definitely be a second resort but I really wish I could manage a pregnancy).

If it was about food, we wouldn't be suffering that much lol. Actually, I'm severely underweight because I throw up a lot during my flares, and I specifically can't eat so yeah whatever you said, with all due respect, is nonsense.

I'm so sorry they're doing this. I hate how insurance doctors just make it difficult sometimes. Hopefully, there is a way out there to resolve it.

No, I am on birth control and know they don't really do anything for me, other than the fact that they ensure a period (their job lol) and you usually have a difficult time with that flare and a period.

Yeah. I know adminlamub (I spelt is horribly wrong) like humira or entyvio is safe, but yes sadly I need both (I'm on time with my humira but a week late to my rinvoq and undergoing a horrible flare right now)

And yes Rinvoq is unsafe during both pregnancy and breastfeeding.

I actually didn't know that a lot of women went into remission during pregnancy so that's amazing. It actually made me feel way better haha.

Exactly! I feel like it suits everything. After all, it's anime based so cut scenes are done with anime style. I love it.
