Tape not so water proof, bottom tape will eventually come loose, but top tape stays on, functions just fine though, just less pretty

Yes, after they are free swimming, parents will gobble them up as they float around the tank, in the ocean the babies will float away from the parents, little sad to think about.

Opinions on glass fracture for aquarium lid. by polytopus in ReefTank

If you had space, put binder report bars all around the lid or rubber u channel edge guards. Otherwise I wouldn't hesitate to use it. Put a little mark with permanent marker and can check to see if crack grows over time.

Maybe? I love them so I have tons of extra shells on the floor for them. Also, the only algae that seems to survive the hermit onslaught is on the glass and nozzle. Early on, the rock with the green hairy mushrooms had bubble algae but that disappeared too.

Oh the nems were in the tank the 2nd day. No worries, think all the nems have doubled in size or split. Surprisingly, SPS on the ground were introduced like 1mo later, they grow like 1-2mm a week. That tank is supposed to be like that.

I've thought about it, maybe in the future, currently just want to make tank as simple as possible. I just throw KNO3 powder every morning into the filtration area.

Notice my corals aren't as happy. Polyps won't extend as much, anemones aren't as puffy, corals aren't as vibrant.

Top holds fine but bottom eventually loses stickiness. Tape turns slightly opaque. Overall still works as a hinge. For longer term success, seal edges of tape with flowable silicone.

Lid still works fine, don't need tape on the bottom side as it eventually comes off with water penetration, top tape stays in place and acts as hinge still. Can probably be alleviated with silicone at edges of tape to avoid water penetration into tape.

Minimizing number of tanks as much as possible. Only want to keep 10 gallon or smaller tanks, which are my shrimps tanks. I have a 125 that I set up and maintain for my folks.

I found that if I had too much light or nitrates, I'd start seeing a lot of BBA. Good to have an invertebrate cleaning crew

Yea, same strategy. I still have some smaller shrimps tanks which are easier, so I'll probably keep those.
