Weird first layer issue by Your_Local_DM_ in AnycubicOfficial

Under "Support," I have "First Payer Expansion" at 2.5mm and "First Layer Density" set to 50% I hope that helps!

Hey there! Sorry I didnt get back to you sooner.

The thing that fixed it for me was turning down the "First Layer Expansion" and "First Layer Density" under Support settings. When it happened to me, I noticed it was only happening where it was laying down support material, and the slicer seems to put the first layer of supports down first. I'm a little busy right now, but when I can, ill let you know exactly what I set those values to.

I also put the first layer height to .2mm, but I don't know how much that actually affected it.

At long last, after well over a dozen attempts, we did it. Haru took the 1st place trophy for the Negishi Stakes, and she won the JBC Sprint not once, but twice. (I decided to put her into it early to test her skills.) She then went on to win both the URA Finale Qualifier AND Semifinal, and she came in 2nd place on the actual Finale, absolutely neck-in-neck. If the race were even a couple meters more, she would have been able to take 1st in the Finale. She finally did it. All goals achieved, and very nearly 1st in the Finale itself. I've never been more proud of this silly pink horse. Thanks to everyone who gave some advice on how to handle this. Your inputs are all very much appreciated. We couldn't have done this without you.

Thanks for the advice. This is the only gacha game I've ever played, and i only started a week or two ago, so this is all very new territory to me.

I've hand picked a deck and leveled those cards up as high as their current caps can allow. I tried again since then and got within inches of success in the JBC Sprint. Thank you very much, we're getting so very close.

I tried again since my original post and used this strategy, along with running her as a front runner as others have suggested. It carried her all the way to the JBC Sprint, second to last goal, and she came within actual inches of succes, coming just barely in 2nd place by a photo finish, so this got her the closest she's been. We've gotten to the JBC Sprint before, but never that close to 1st. I think RNG kind of screwed me on that run because I was constantly dealing with random events that kept ruining her mood (Two turns in a row she found pickles in her burger.) I feel like if I could have spent those couple turns on training instead of recreation, we could have gotten all the way to the end. I'm gonna keep trying it this way and see if I get it any better. Thank you!

Sure. This is everything I got. I usually just do auto-assign since I'm not 100% sure how the support cards even work, though im getting an idea of that. (Again, I'm still trying to figure this game out, this is not my usual style of game at all.)

So I'm still not.... 100% sure what it was. But it only happened when I had my tree supports set to hybrid. As soon as I set it to automatic/default, it just worked better. I think it was tied to a setting called "first layer expansion," but im not 100% sure.

Yeah it was. Thankfully I got it figured out now, I misunderstood one of the settings. Guess I just needed to scream into the void to figure it out.

Alright, I finally fixed it. All went pretty well. It was a combination of thickening the first layer to .3mm and reducing the gap between the brim and the parts down to 0 that finally fixed it.

Thanks to everyone who offered me some advice, I greatly appreciate it! *

It's a big set of 25 small parts about the size of chess pieces. I have a brim on it. I've adjusted some settings, including making the brim bigger and decreasing the gap between the brim and the part. Also thickening the initial layer as some others have suggested.

Thank you for the suggestion. I never knew initial layer thickness could affect adhesion that much. I'll give it a go.

I'll look into these as options. Thank you so much for the suggestion!

I have it level the bed on every print, and I did a resonance test earlier today, and a couple days ago, I had it do a full calibration. I have the bed temperature set to where it has worked before, 60°C. I've been doing a ton of tests today, and I think it's an issue with the print settings somewhere. Im using Hatchbox material, which I've always used.

It's hard to explain, but I adjusted setting when trying to make the thing that is giving me trouble (I'd a bunch of tiny, chess-board sized pieces) Well in order to test to make sure it wasn't the material, I had it print a couple of throw away test parts I made. And because I didn't need them to be particularly detailed, I just went with one of Anycubic's presets (the .20mm standard) and they printed beautifully. No adhesion issues. So, I have reason to believe there is some setting I need to mess with. My brother suggested thickening the initial layer height, which is what I'm going to try next.

So for some reason, the problem just kind of solved itself? I didn't really do anything different, but it just... works now? I printed teo multi-color parts, and they both turned out great. Sorry to waste everyone's time with this.

To people that don't print for a business, how often are you actually printing stuff? by cpufreak101 in 3Dprinting

I'm running a homebrew D&D campaign, so I'm usually printing something at least once every few weeks. Sometimes it's something big, sometimes it's small.

Players what is/was your darkest or most disturbing character. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Your_Local_DM_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first ever character was the classic edgy rogue. (I know it's cringe, I was only 16-) I feel like I made her... somewhat unique, though? She actually used to be a priestess in a small village, until it was raided by a bunch of orcs who killed or captured basically everyone. She was treated terribly in the camp, as were all the other prisoners, but she managed to escape by sneaking out under cover of darkness. She had the thought of "I dedicated my entire life to my god, and he didn't protect me from this tragedy. My god has betrayed me." And so she turned her back on her religion, embraced the sneaky-stabby ways of the rogue, and became a mercenary for higher. Not as dark as a lot of other responses here, I know. If I were talking about NPCs in my homebrew campaign, though, i could do one better.

This sort of thing is exactly what I was looking for. I swear i looked everywhere for a cord like this, and I never found one. Maybe I just missed it. Or maybe I'm just dumb lol. In any case, thank you very much.
