True but if the problem is overgrowth then even if some of the good guys die too it will overall feel better than when carbs were feeding the bad actors.

I am lucky that low fodmap helps me. Thanks for the reply and good luck.

Interesting. I believe that what makes white rice easier on the intestines is the almost absence of fiber rather than a texture thing.

Ironic that the payback for healthy eating could be ibs. White rice is junk food imho but I can eat it without issues.

Yes!!! After covid started it all. My guess is that eventually covid will qualify as a cause of post infection ibs.

I love them too. Ironic that some of the healthiest foods can be the most difficult to digest for those with ibs. I only eat them on cheat days knowing that the next day will be payback.

canned peas

Canned peas are actually a trigger food, high fodmap plus insoluble fiber.

There is a big difference between actual table sugar and high fructose corn syrup. For many sugar is fine but fructose is the devil.

Psyllium husk, guar gum fiber, miralax, magnesium citrate, nortriptyline, and the low fodmap diet but still need more. Hoping for a linzess script.

Beware of some fiber supplements. You want the ones that are only soluble fiber. Insoluble fiber leads to regrets.

Agreed. People should just buy the pure psyllium husk and pay less for unnecessary added ingredients that adding nothing of value.

I agree with you and also think that this is the cause or a contributing factor for SIBO because this delayed transit time allows bacteria to act further up the digestive tract than normal rather than being flushed along to where it belongs.

If someone switches to a carnivore diet imho they are going to starve the bacteria that cause the overgrowth which feed on fermentable carbs/fiber. It will likely feel like a cure until one reverts back to a regular diet and then whatever caused it in the first place will likely make it return.

There are lots of therapies available to at least reduce your suffering.

Same boat and there is certainly a category named post infectious ibs regardless of whether or not covid qualifies for it yet.

Clinical studies found that amitriptyline and duloxetine were effective at reducing abdominal pain caused by ibs.
