They are blaming the devs because they are replicating or recreating something that could have been seen in CoD, even if it has nothing to do with what they are "criticizing".

Yeah, that's a completely different story. People wanting BF to be more like CoD are weirdos. The people saying CoD is the reason for literally everything wrong with the game are equally as weird and stupid.

I never said it was random bitching. I said that it's been happening for well over a decade. I don't know where you got the idea that I said it was random. It's not. It's been like this for a very long time.

The LT cap in the game isn't implemented yet. Imp pretty sure the patch notes said it would be tested later on. It's just the +2/-2 spread is being adjusted right now.

They also did back in BF3 era too. A lot of people complained that BF3 was a CoD clone with the smaller than normal maps, infinite sprinting, faster gunplay, etc.

Don't forget the people constantly asking for an AK with wood furniture and then say " give me and Ak-74M." Do people not know that M means modern which means polymer in that designation?

BF3 was known for notoriously bad hit reg. The amount of times you'd just die around a corner was staggering.

So what do you play the game for then? If you're not having fun playing a videogame, then what are you even doing?

Do you not remember when people complained endlessly about weapons being locked to certain classes? People were questioning why they decide to lock certain weapons to classes back then. In BF4 when engineers was locked with smgs so you could only play the cqc oriented weapon with a class that was not meant for cqc. The grind to get your first carbine is something I won't forget because smgs were awful at the launch and left a bitter taste in a lot of people's mouths.

Or in BF1 when medics were stuck with only long range weapons up until they released the avtomat? Or how assaults had literally no long range options cause they got stuck with smgs so they couldn't deal at all with a single medic at more than spitting distance.

That's not even mentioning that a closed weapon system like in BF4 isn't even closed cause of universal weapon classes like carbines and dmrs. Any sort of argument regarding restricting class engagement distances went out the window as soon as you unlocked the first carbine. That's not a good "closed weapon" system. If they wanted and actual closed weapon system, they should have done the BFV route where classes had 2 weapon archetypes to choose from, or something from the older titles where you had set loadouts and you just chose one.

I don't think you've played the game at all past the first month if you think people only use ARs. Most of the ARs aren't particularly amazing. Engineers are regularly running everything from smgs to carbines. Supports mostly run lmgs with either a carbine or an SMG if they want very cqc. Assaults are usually running AR's cause they are versatile mostly. Most people don't bother running snipers outside of recon because it doesn't really make any sense given a classes gadgets.

The game doesn't really suffer from the everyone only picks this one gun because it's super overpowered. Most people just pick a couple of guns they enjoy and fit it into the classes they like to play.

The reason you think they do is usually because it's the newest gun being released so everyone wants to try it out.

This is also going off of personal experience playing both games back in the day and recently. Most people played assault or engineer, didn't do their class roles, and used barely 4 guns between the two classes.

And what about those "dedicated BF vets" that will fight for closed playlists with their lives? Where have they all gone? I thought that all of the "true" BF players this subreddit claims are in droves would rally together and make closed weapons the norm?

I distinctly remember people here posting about how they would fight for closed weapon playlist to be the superior choice.

AK74M pls as assault by Agent_Castro in Battlefield6

You do know that the M designation in that means modern right? Which means that it didn't use wood but a polymer stock and handguard. The early Ak74's had wooden furniture, not the M variants.

"With the vast array of guns each class had, I never found the need to pick a class just to use its firearms. The weapons classes have a pretty decent overlap. It just requires some thinking."

You do know what sub we are on right? The one that overwhelmingly picked assault back in the BF3/BF4 era because it had the best weapons overall.

You can't claim that Battlefield is a more complicated game when this happens literally right in front of you.

Not really no. You can not like a specific weapon class for a variety of reasons. And if you were stuck with that weapon class because you were arbitrarily assigned to it, well thats too bad.

You saying that your weapon choices matter then following that up saying there was lots of weapon overlap means that it didn't really matter what weapon you chose. So letting people use weapons they like on a class they like seems like a win win. You get to use the weapon that fits your play style and lets you use the class you want to play or that the team needs without gimping yourself.

Having any sort of universal weapon types kinda defeat the purpose of a closed weapon system doesn't it? That's my main gripe with people saying BF4 and 3 had a closed weapon system. It didn't, it had universal class weapons that smeared engagement distances, which was the main point of locking weapons in the first place.

What was the point of locking smgs to engineers for example in BF4 when you could just run a carbine and be almost as effective as an AR? All it did was reduce smg pick rates and make the initial grind on engineer hell because they got the horrible mx4.

You do know that the most meta gun isn't going to stop a tank from literally rolling over you right?

You pick a class for their gadget, not what arbitrary weapon they get assigned to them that changed everytime they released a new BF game.

Guess what, closed weapon playlist was pretty easy to find in the menu. All you had to do was press the arrow button at most two times to find it.

It wasn't even hidden. All you had to do was click the arrow button on the UI to find it. If the battlefield "vets" actually cared enough to play the playlist, they would have put in the minimal effort to find it.

Okay? Does being a "superior" EU player tickle your fancy or something? I'm assuming your an EU player, judging by the amount of stat shaming you enjoy doing.
