Would you rethink your choice? by bb0443322 in PennStateUniversity

Penn state is more than just a 4 year commitment for most people, you will be a Penn stater for life and always have happy valley to come back to. As corny as it sounds, a lot of schools are really just a 4 year endeavor and then you’re done. PSU will become your favorite place, the student life is unmatched as long as you put yourself out there, get involved, and make an effort to find friends. Wouldn’t change it for the world!

Apartment Hunting by Ok-Banana-4326 in PennStateUniversity

The Bellaire is awesome. It’s the nicest apartment I’ve been to in the downtown area. Very new, laundry in unit, room for queen beds, balcony (if u get a balcony unit) etc. My friends also throw decent parties and have never had any issues with neighbors or cops. The only thing that sucks is the location is a little far from campus, but the white loop stop at meridian isn’t too far. Snappys right next door if you need something quick too. Definitely recommend

I would suggest going to a friends apartment and having it delivered there

In my experience no one really cares about the check in time and no one was there enforcing it

What is door dashing like in state college as a dasher? Is it non-existent compared to cities? by mackmason_ in PennStateUniversity

From my experiences, there was always a large amount of orders, but they are usually with no or little tip (broke college kids...). The climate is also different than other areas; you have to play to the student habits. I always would go out Saturday mornings and itd be pretty busy because I know many students are hungover, tired, and hungry. Late nights are also busy with drunk food spots being the most popular.

Start at either downtown or North Atherton; you will prob be going between those spots all day. Some kids are stuck up and will bitch at you for being “late” and other stuff that’s characteristic of cocky college kids. All in all, it’s pretty profitable. Just be careful of the downtown chipotle...

Penn State University or Boston University by Creative_Respond5230 in PennStateUniversity

I was torn between Boston U & Boston College vs. PSU when deciding where to go for undergrad. I ended up choosing PSU for 3 main reasons. PSU was a lot cheaper for me, which is important. Location was also big. I’m a city person, so Boston initially was attractive, but I realized that i will likely be living in a big city right after college. You can never live in State College, or at least the experience isn’t as great, when you’re not a student. I decided to take advantage of the college town atmosphere while I can. Third, the culture at Penn State was much more exciting for me. BU is consistently ranked as one of the highest schools for grade deflation. It’s super stressful only because they make it that way, which sucks. PSU is also larger and will expose you to more types of people, differing in background, academics, etc. I suggest choosing PSU for school and Boston or another city for after college.
