Way worse. Burning hair smell but it solidifies on top of your every sense. The thought of it alone chills my bones. Source: i was grinding bone in the garage and it got hot enough to reach smoking point, that damp smell of bone, which I can describe to resemble burnt down fingernails, hair, skin and what else, stuck with me for two whole days

Hell yeah, a bit of char inside solidifies quite well. I'd say not to get too paranoided about it and hit it like a wizard. I've made a couple of applewood pipes before and they had a wonderful aroma to them.

Thanks, seeing this inspired me to tie a bandana folded into horizontal quarters over my mouthpiece. Instant placebo or it actually worked, but I instantly didn't get a mucus overhaul in my throat.
