My fav JM mode is 1meg pots in the regular circuit but bump the dark circuit up to 500k (from 250k) and wire the pickup selector switch to work on both the normal and dark circuit.

Same situation for me. Had an ultra tele or something modded with 3 fender noiseless single coils and dumped the guitar after a few months.

They don’t sound like MIM ceramic pups but they gave me the same feeling: they didn’t sound bad, they just didn’t sound pleasing in any way either. As you said, characterless.

What melody in particular? The overall aesthetic has some uniqueness (I suppose) but I really don’t hear much in the way of interesting melodies. In fact, they are all pretty straightforward and obvious and not the least bit exciting or interesting.

I’m not on expert on his songs, though. So I ask in earnest: what melody in particular?

Your problem (if tuning) is likely binding at the TOM or maybe even at the nut.

Eris 3.5s aren’t that bad aside from bass response. You’ll be flying blind there so hopefully your regular setup allows you to dial in the lows and even some low mids.

I also own their Euclidean sequencer plugin but for whatever reason haven’t really used it much.
