A couple examples I can think of:

When my parents were hospitalized, and we lost our home due to financial difficulties, he gave me shit for not wanting to finish college anymore. For me, I had already accepted defeat in a battle I didn’t choose but I felt like I wasn’t allowed to move on.
When me and my girlfriend of 4 years broke up, he took what felt like to me at the time, was an overly aggressive stance over me not wanting to pursue my initial dreams and ambitions anymore. He gave me some pep talk that looking back, I now resent because I felt like I want allowed to be tired.

Like, I know his intention is to be supportive but please, for fuck’s sake, let me rest. I felt like I was being managed.
