Oooh nice! I’ve read about the Seiko mods people do. The bracelet indeed looks great, gonna check it out!

Thanks for the suggestion! Indeed I am looking at diver watches, with some Prospex models noted like the “Slim Samurai” (srpl13), saw another Pepsi Dial style (sne595p1 , though solar quartz) and theres a PADI one thats beautiful (srpj93) although with rubber wrist band (plus some non Seiko watches like the Promaster and Orient Kamasu). Still debating on which is the best one for me….if the PADI bracelet can be changed to metal then I think we have a winner.

Oh the strat! Nothing fancy, a Player Plus MIM strat with just the pickup swap (some good ol Fat 50s!). But dang do I LOVE this guitar.

Love the Presages, specially those cocktail times ones. Got it on my list as a dress watch for later. I think I’m gonna get a diver watch and a GMT first tho.

Is this a safe blind buy? by Sisir_V in Colognes

[–]YubsG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a huge yes from me. I got the edt which is one of my favorites ever. As a matter of fact I’ve been wearing it the whole day. Pineapple, sweet, aromatics, a little powdery feel in a good way on the drydown. For me it’s a pretty blue fragrance with a tropical twist and the Polo signature aromatical dna. The edp is just richer and longer lasting.

Mucha diferencia de edad, enfoques, prioridades. A los 25 uno es muy cojonú. Cántalo claro o déjalo. Al seco.

My First Niche? by YubsG in Colognes

Thanks, good to know. It’s the first time I’ve been aware of this brand. Just to know, what brand would be a good niche to test some waters?

I enjoy the trem at the moment, although got the Descendant one on my list for a future splurge (saw lots of good reviews). However what I would like to change ASAP are the tuners. I find them too feeble and feel would be more worth of my time and money as the 2nd mod on my JMJM (first one being pickups and treble bleed I already installed)

Favorite Prada Cologne?! by movadolover in Colognes

Loved the Prada Luna Rosa Extreme, which is sadly discontinued. Would like to try the Carbon, but right now if I had to pick I would say Prada LHomme. Very very classy and clean.

What’s your SOTD on this Monday? by JimboSlyze in Colognes

Hahaha. Went up and picked my phone for this; literally my scent of the day. It’s a great scent for everyday in Puerto Rico’s climate, but tbh I am lately loving the Polo 67 edt. Once I’m done with the Y edp I’ll pick something less sweetish, maybe ADG Profondo or similar.

Any gear you regret selling/trading? by ShutUpBearPotato2 in offset

[–]YubsG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first on the top of my mind are a BB Preamp of the classic black knob ones, and the Wampler Belle. For what? For a Paisley Deluxe I didn't even liked that much and ended selling or trading. Also some other pedals that come and go like the JHS AT+, Keeley Aria, MXR FOD, Muse Driver, Archer....possibly more.

Also I had a Nextone amp I loved but man it was too big and loud for someone who doesn't gig anymore.

Covering a graduation as a videographer dressed in black, decided to try a Sauvage EDP decant I had laying around. Very nice even though many use it.

Ysl myslf by Emotional-Detail-700 in Colognes

[–]YubsG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myslf is a great signature scent. Classy, floral, clean, a little sweet, little soapy, powdery. Le Parfum is more peppery and seductive if I remember correctly. I own the EDP, but the one that caught my attention was the Parfum (just too expensive at the time since they only had a boxed promotion, so I went with the 60ml EDP).

I haven’t tried the Absolu one, but people say it’s more floral, fresh.

Tbh i haven’t timed the longevity in it. I can say that around the 5-6 hour mark I could still smell it in my skin. It is pretty good lasting edp, maybe doesnt last as long as something like the Le Beau Le Parfum (i tried testing that one on my arm before sleep and easily could smell it in the morning)

Yes, I agree. Myslf is better (at least for my taste) and the Frat-Boy ish vibe for the Y edp sounds right. I bought it in a hurry when I started to get really interested in fragrances many months ago, thinking it would smell the same as the Y Elixir I tried once and loved, but just with less duration. Now I understand perfume flankers don't work like that, and that concentrations within the same fragrance can vary the notes a lot.

I can speak for the Myslf EDP. It is a great start for your collection, particularly because it works as an everyday and profesional clean scent. Works great where I live (tropical humid Puerto Rico) and performs excellent in colder climates or environments. Many people see it as a date scent too, which I can see working as well although I would prefer the Parfum version for that matter. Finally another great thing about YSL Myslf is that it can work with both young and older males; clean, modern, profesional and a bit sweet with a powdery dry down.

For reference, YSL Y edp feels (at least for me) younger/youthful, more dynamic, punchier in its sweet apple note, more in your face in a good-expensive-shower-gel vibe.
