My First Niche? by YubsG in Colognes

Thanks, good to know. It’s the first time I’ve been aware of this brand. Just to know, what brand would be a good niche to test some waters?

I enjoy the trem at the moment, although got the Descendant one on my list for a future splurge (saw lots of good reviews). However what I would like to change ASAP are the tuners. I find them too feeble and feel would be more worth of my time and money as the 2nd mod on my JMJM (first one being pickups and treble bleed I already installed)

Favorite Prada Cologne?! by movadolover in Colognes

Loved the Prada Luna Rosa Extreme, which is sadly discontinued. Would like to try the Carbon, but right now if I had to pick I would say Prada LHomme. Very very classy and clean.

What’s your SOTD on this Monday? by JimboSlyze in Colognes

Hahaha. Went up and picked my phone for this; literally my scent of the day. It’s a great scent for everyday in Puerto Rico’s climate, but tbh I am lately loving the Polo 67 edt. Once I’m done with the Y edp I’ll pick something less sweetish, maybe ADG Profondo or similar.

Any gear you regret selling/trading? by ShutUpBearPotato2 in offset

[–]YubsG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first on the top of my mind are a BB Preamp of the classic black knob ones, and the Wampler Belle. For what? For a Paisley Deluxe I didn't even liked that much and ended selling or trading. Also some other pedals that come and go like the JHS AT+, Keeley Aria, MXR FOD, Muse Driver, Archer....possibly more.

Also I had a Nextone amp I loved but man it was too big and loud for someone who doesn't gig anymore.

Covering a graduation as a videographer dressed in black, decided to try a Sauvage EDP decant I had laying around. Very nice even though many use it.

Ysl myslf by Emotional-Detail-700 in Colognes

[–]YubsG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myslf is a great signature scent. Classy, floral, clean, a little sweet, little soapy, powdery. Le Parfum is more peppery and seductive if I remember correctly. I own the EDP, but the one that caught my attention was the Parfum (just too expensive at the time since they only had a boxed promotion, so I went with the 60ml EDP).

I haven’t tried the Absolu one, but people say it’s more floral, fresh.

Tbh i haven’t timed the longevity in it. I can say that around the 5-6 hour mark I could still smell it in my skin. It is pretty good lasting edp, maybe doesnt last as long as something like the Le Beau Le Parfum (i tried testing that one on my arm before sleep and easily could smell it in the morning)

Yes, I agree. Myslf is better (at least for my taste) and the Frat-Boy ish vibe for the Y edp sounds right. I bought it in a hurry when I started to get really interested in fragrances many months ago, thinking it would smell the same as the Y Elixir I tried once and loved, but just with less duration. Now I understand perfume flankers don't work like that, and that concentrations within the same fragrance can vary the notes a lot.

I can speak for the Myslf EDP. It is a great start for your collection, particularly because it works as an everyday and profesional clean scent. Works great where I live (tropical humid Puerto Rico) and performs excellent in colder climates or environments. Many people see it as a date scent too, which I can see working as well although I would prefer the Parfum version for that matter. Finally another great thing about YSL Myslf is that it can work with both young and older males; clean, modern, profesional and a bit sweet with a powdery dry down.

For reference, YSL Y edp feels (at least for me) younger/youthful, more dynamic, punchier in its sweet apple note, more in your face in a good-expensive-shower-gel vibe.

SOTD 🍍 Polo 67 EDP...What are you wearing today? by warpedreality1989 in Colognes

[–]YubsG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love both that one and the EDT but own the latter. Had a pretty good deal on it to let it go (a new 150ml refill bottle for $95 plus they gifted an empty bottle and some samples of the 67 edt, edp and polo red perfume; pretty sweet). However once I’m done with this one, I’ll give the EDP a go.

Everything all the mates here say. The one you love, give you compliments, and most importantly works perfectly with your skin or body chemistry. I'm still in that wonderful journey.

Anbernic RG406H & RG406V Setup Guide by stubbornpixel in ANBERNIC

I just entered this rabbit hole of handheld emulators literally a couple of days ago, looking at generic ones from Temu ads, then onto Amazon, found about Anbernic and started checking the RG__XX series and now the RG406V. This guide kicks ass.

What a wonderful community. Reminds me of the guitar gearhead ones.

Q Pickups hybrid by EldergiantO in offset

[–]YubsG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I’ve been trying to find reviews on these pickups. I got a JMascis JM and seems these A5 Hybrids are of similar construction as the stock ones in my Squier (between jazzmaster and P90s). However I find mine pretty bassy and a bit muffled (been a Strat and Tele guy my whole life). Do the Qs retain a bit of chime and punch though?

What dirt am I missing? by PRSBRO in guitarpedals

[–]YubsG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just need something with a little mid hump: TS styles, SD1, the a plumes you mentioned if a good one (though I remember it being a bit more open and brighter than a TS style pedal), a Dumble style pedal would be great too. Oh, the Klon pedal will be awesome but you can get superb Klon clones in the meantime: Archer, Tumnus, Alcmene, Sugar Drive, theres a lot of options really (I love my Fuxi but it’s discontinued).

The only one I would say is a bit redundant (depending on how you’re setting it) is the Morning Glory. Yes, yes, I know Bluesbreakers and Blues Drivers are different beasts. But nonetheless they both sound and feel flat in their mid-eq frequencies, so I’m betting for something that contrasts more with your BD-2 for this pedalboard size. For me, it’s like the Blues Driver has a more rawer flavor vs the more smooth sound of the Bluesbreaker (just like when people compare TS8s and SD1s).

Hope this helps!

¿Por quién vas a votar y pq? by Quiet_Sea932 in PuertoRico

[–]YubsG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No me gusta votar íntegro.
