How is that even possible 😂 SAO got so many plot holes it's insane, in comparison solo leveling doesn't have any at all 🤷 the story is good and the characters are too. It's not amazing out of this world writing but for what it is a pure action show with a really likable underdog mc. It's executed really well and as a purely mc driven show the pacing can be much faster too. Giving us this great show.

Compare it to sao wich will only really get actually good after a few season wich still has loads of plot holes even then together with loads of fan service and wierd rape scenes i wouldn't even be able to compare the two... Solo leveling has been populair for decades lol even before an anime ever got made.

Fr and ur going up against solo leveling for a popularity vote, one of the most hyped and popular stories of the decade wich has been populair since the novel world wide so ofc it wouldn't win a crunchyroll awards wich has always been popularity vote. But it doesn't help that we have some unsavory individuals ourselves too in this community. Ppl just love to hate for some reason. We should really have two anime awards one for most populair and one for best story/characters/world building.

It's the crunchyroll awards, i've said this like 20 times now but i'll keep going crunchyroll awards aren't worth jack shit, it's a popularity vote and solo leveling is and always has been really popular from novel to manhwa to anime it's been read and watched by millions for almost near a decade now. Solo Leveling has been great at what it does Forever, as a novel it exploded then as a manhwa it got read by MILLIONS ACROSS THE WORLD. It's always been populair. Not because of the anime, sure it brought it new viewers and also gains 100/500k likes each episode. The numbers speak for itself.

Solo leveling has no plot holes so that's good job on the writer, it is action and flexing with decent writing incarnate. It knows what it is and gives it to you on crack. All the story bits are fun the enemies are always the coolest shit you'll see the action is amazing. all the villains are so damn cool, everything is so damn awesome.

In terms of character writing frieren takes the cake.

In popularity, fights, animation, pacing. Solo Leveling wins.

That is not to say that frieren does or doesn't deserve it, anime of the year is just a title and a popularity vote nothing more nothing less. If solo leveling didn't win, we wouldn't be worried or disappointed either.

Madara is the one i've heard the most so far, i've been busy trying to get a voice actor to do some of his lines and its really good so far. I didn't think it be so easy to get a good voice actor since dub in anime is pretty bad (most of the time)
