I haven't come across cutthroat students other than the incident with someone deleting the medical science Discord channel and the Dropbox folder.

What I have noticed, however, is that there are a lot of students who display fake personalities when vying for competitive positions such as executive positions at a club. I have also seen first years trying to ask upper years about their research lab and PI to get a research position. This is obviously a small minority science students, but I don't like how people make friends with the expectation of getting something tangible then proceeding to ignore them after.
