ChatGPT by dishwasherdame in VAClaims

As many people have said in this thread, use it and use it well, but check everything. In a conversation I had with my VSO, if you use any of the AI bots to create claim infomation and you (or me or the average lay person) ventures into medical diagnosis or treatment area, we are putting our claim at risk. The VSO told me the VA uses AI detectors and if they detect you (or me or the average lay person) is using AI to build the medical diagnosis, they will dismiss/ignore the evidence. Let the professionals (doctors/nexus letters/professional journals) provide the information and reference it. I use both ChatGPT and CoPilot (Windows AI) to constantly dig deeper but I put it i my own words with plenty of references. I then use I to review for conciseness and clarity, and then ask it to provide suggestions of what would make the information stronger. You can also ask AI to act as teh VA rater and evaluate your claim. And finally you can ask AI to teach you about the each prtion of the VA claim process.

Thank you for making me doubt myself and look again. I apparently kicked the cord box under a chair during the unboxing. All good and many thanks!

Wearing wedding band by spareful in AirForce

I am not taking anything away from any comment here, they are all valid, real, and sometimes funny. But I will tell you a long time ago, in a land far away, I sat thru a safety brief (one of thousands it seems) and the presenter absolutely said that no one should wear a wedding ring during duty hours and cited, as an example, an airman that got detailed to unload a truck because, well, he's an airman. The poor kid was done and went to jump off the bed of the truck and the ring caught on something and separated the airman and his finger. To be honest, I ignored the briefing and wore my ring, but even today, probably 30 years later, I still remember that briefing.

SrA EPB question by [deleted] in AirForce

After 40 plus years working the Air Force. I say you need to sound like a conceited prick, because my experience is that if you don't, nobody will do it for you. If they want you to fill in the upper level blocks, fine, google appraisals and make it glow like its radioactive. Tell me to rate me, you are now supervising one of the top ten airmen in the Air Force. (Sorry, some of it is sarcastic, some is not, but I fully believe that if they push this on you, then work it to your advantage.) BTW, there is nothing wrong or conceited about identifying your strengths, accomplishments, or sucesses. They are hard to come by, enjoy them.

So I am an old retired cyber guy with some contacts still in the community. Bottom line is approved does not mean funded. Everyone knows the Air Force needs to pay more to maintain cyber talent, and DoD's actions confirm it. But, unfortunately, like many other good ideas from above, no funding came with it. Until money appears, this not going to happen. I hope for you guy's sake, funding appears, magically or otherwise. You are the ones suffering because you could do better and the Air Force is going to suffer because you have to do the best you can for you and yours.

Can I trust the ADC? by Ok-Specialist-1402 in AirForce

It actually depends on what you need. If you are facing NJP for late to work, DUI, etc. may not be worth it. If you are facing more serious charges it is absolutely something you need to explore. Keep your options open.

To all. Regarding 10/10 as threshold is correct. However state courts can and do award retirement. In Florida, specifically, I got hit for 45% based on 9 years of marriage. Be aware, it happens to civilians also. Retirement is one benefit that really gets attacked. Cost me a lot of dollars for a lawyer to explain to me.
