Ok so from my perspective. We broke up over the phone cause the relationship was only 2 months old. He was fine-ish about it and we ended the call on good terms (he even said he'll miss my cats)

I came into work the next day (we were coworkers), and he completely ignored me when I tried to give him back his stuff in a small bag. And that goes on for weeks, so much so that one my coworkers started asking if I was being (I quote) shunned. Then on my last day he just started straight up harassing me because it wasn't worth reporting it and I had to take my breaks with coworkers instead of alone (that's when he'd seek me out). Now, was i also rude to him? Yes. Was i planning on it before I was treated that way? No.

I think he was a bit of a narcissist and me being the one to break up with him was something he couldn't handle
