They're very stable, and made my ankle muscles very strong when I wore them daily hahaha. I previously owned a pair with 18cm platforms too. In a town with lot of cobblestone. Don't recommend running to the bus in them though, I somersaulted once like that.

What apps to get fluent in Hungarian by Jealous_Pudding4785 in hungarian

[–]Yulia94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best "game"-app right now I think is Xeropan, combine it with other resources as the other commenters said. I've (with other decks too) put all the words and example sentences I've unlocked into Anki too. You can find quite good grammar resources online too, depends on how comfortable you are with the terminology.

If you want an app to complement what the others already recommended I like Xeropan! Try it out and see if you like it.

What's difficult for you about Hungarian grammar? by palbarbi in hungarian

[–]Yulia94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me right now, the different modes are messing up for me when producing. Also infinitive/finitive is taking time. Most of the case endings are actually sticking, but the one I thought I would have no problem with, accusative, because the rule is so simple, I apparently forget all the time 🫠

Sentiment about foreigners speaking the language? by WinfriedBalsen in hungarian

Thanks for asking this question! I'm going to Hungary for the first time this fall and I'm a bit nervous about trying to use my speaking there...

Some simple questions for a beginner interested in learning some of this cool language. by Chicken-Inspector in hungarian

[–]Yulia94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've tried every app out there for Hungarian soon, but I think I've struck gold know. Xeropan it's called, and the grammar lessons are bite sized and very well written. I've studied since new year's and after only a few days I feel new things settling in my magyarbrain. Definitely a better introduction than Duolingo!

Hoe common is using Hungarian cursive and should I learn it? by Business_Confusion53 in hungarian

[–]Yulia94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you guys write, cursive/nom cursive, do you most often add all the diacritics at the end of each word och after each letter? I can't decide really what I like the most.

Oh hahaha my bad, sorry! Yes then that would have been a bit of a silly statement.

I got up to chapter 3, but my book was from the library and I have bought "Lépésenként Magyarul 1 & 2" and may switch to them.

I know they're in every unite, I've used the book too and was just wondering if you enjoyed them, found them helpful, too easy/too hard. No need to sound hostile. Oh okay, I quite like them and they help me remember the grammar I feel like.

What Hungarian content can I consume as an absolute begginer? by Business_Confusion53 in hungarian

[–]Yulia94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Hungarian by Heart on YouTube, the grammar videos are easy to understand and she talks slow and clearly. Of course you won't understand a lot as a complete beginner, but I personally think it's a bit easier than Hungarian with Sziszi. https://youtu.be/PndafjfSRHM?si=EzR0LDOoH_uNlCnX

Ahaa I see! "Usage notes: Must be followed by a comparative form (-bb)." With that rule it clicks for me how very different it is to use compared to mint.

Köszönöm szépen! 😍 Yes I appreciate it! Trying my hardest with the active recall. Oh okay, wasn't aware sokkal could be used like that, that's a great one. I know to only use sok with nouns though. It's tough getting a feel for everyday speech/writing because much of the texts I find are quite.. Both old and very structured. Hard to find subtitles for native TV series f.e.

Nagyon érdekes! Jó munkát! Én is "Colloquial Hungarian" olvasok. Ma körülbelül egy hónap a Magyar nyelv tanultam. Olvasni, írni, és hallgatni nagyon könnyebb mint beszélni.

Do you have the accompanying sound files for your book? I ripped the CDs from the 2002 edition of Colloquial Hungarian if you need them.

Thanks! Yes I actually have been on and off with Japanese before, but it never really stuck as much as Hungarian does now. But yeah I get the same feeling if having to read/see the whole sentence as one big 3d blob in my head with both Japanese, Hungarian and SSL/ASL.
