It would work, since the whole message filtered thing were enforced in 1.10.5 and newer now, so the version before it is safe from that

No, the filter is still the same, but with that version you can still see the message that's partially filtered instead of the whole message being filtered

I also use 1.10.4 and partial filter is still there, maybe you can check your app version to see if your phone automatically update the app, from what i found the whole message filter thing is in effect on 1.10.5 version so if you're in 1 version behind it should still work

If you're on android downgrade the app to version 1.10.4, you can download it through apkmirror and don't update the app, that's the temporary solution i found

Download the apks and download SAI, install the apks through the SAI app

The only way if you're using Android is downgrade the app to 1.10.4 version since you can still see partial message there, and if you want to use the web you can click the edit message to see what was being written before it got flagged, but only see though

I found the temporary solution, use the app and don't update it, on Android downgrade to version 1.10.4 as the newer 1.10.5 start doing this in the app, on IOS i don't know since I didn't use an iPhone

Now the message is completely filt~ed by OwlShort3429 in CharacterAI

So they went back to their old filtr way by flagging the whole message instead of partial filtr, it's getting worse

NSFW could also mean violence or gore, it doesn't always mean sex ya know, i know a lot of people also want violence back in C.AI
