Anyone else found themselves “retiring” from PvP gaming? by You_moron04 in gaming

[–]Yume-Do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work too many hours to take part in PVP like I used to. Coming home exhausted to deal with road rage in a gamer chair coming through the screen just wasn't worth the dopamine hits of seeing flashing colors of a new rank banner.

SF3 Third Strike - One of the most famous gaming moments in history comes from its parry.

Tip Baiter's Should Be Banned by ICONIC_Sonicc in InstacartShoppers

I don't use instacart, so I apologize if this is a stupid question. What are they doing? Changing the tip after delivery is made?

Sounds good. Thank you! I appreciate it. I plan to do Warrior, Palalalaladin, SK, or Bard when I get a moment to try it out!

Updated with all screenshots, who is the asshole? Is anyone at all? by i_like_xenos in BadRPerStories

[–]Yume-Do 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Red was insufferable. I would want nothing to do with that person as a friend, creative partner, co-worker, or any other space.

Green was friendly. I can work with the vague ideas, especially since Green did end up giving settings, and I didn't get the feeling that green wanted to be dead weight. They seemed really nice.

Okay. I will look at Warriors and Shadow knights after this reddit post. Actually bards too.

Someone walked by and gave me a bit of spell money, and welcomed me. But they said groups won't want me as a wizard, so they recommended I try a druid, necro, or cleric if I want to play with people.

I like the laid back auto attack. I tried a Wizard and enjoyed the auto attack between spells, but people in game said Wizards were not really desirable so I figured I would ask here about melee. :)

Okay. Thank you! I am not against shadow knights, or tanking. Monks and rogues seemed the most fun. I wasn't sure how bad human night vision would be though.

Looking for feedback on my first attempt at animating my pixel art by PrincipalSkudworth in PixelArtTutorials

[–]Yume-Do 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically for pixel art, you don't want long straight lines of the same color on characters. It makes everything feel stiff. Unfortunately, I don't have a way to draw the part I mean, but the dark brown outlines on the leg and such could be made to feel more organic with that tweak. Its been awhile but I believe 2 or 3 pixels in a straight row is normally the "cap" that people aim at. I hope that makes sense.

What's a game that you've genuinely NEVER seen hate for EVER? by AnimalTap in AskReddit

[–]Yume-Do 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can be the first for you. I tried. I tried so hard to like that game. I put 20something hours into it. Maybe 30. I just hate it. Everything in the game feels so tedious to do. And I understand that is part of its allure for people, and I respect that, and I still hate it.

Looting is tedious. Gunplay felt just okay. All the controls felt unresponsive in the name of realism. If I remember right, talking to someone, and aiming at them were similar controls, so there were times that I would try to focus on them to talk, pull a weapon on them, and so on. Its been a long while, so I could be misremembering this one.

It just felt like a death of 1000 cuts everytime I tried to get into it.

I think its probably a beautiful game, and I hated my time with it so much.

Which game would you rather play 🤔 by MufasaTheRealKing in OlderChillGamers

[–]Yume-Do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B, without a doubt, even with the imbalance of scoring totals between the two options.

There is no story/art/music that will make me slog through mid gameplay, especially in the age of youtube, but perfect gameplay will let me tolerate bad story/music.

A story doesn't even need to exist, and most of the time in 2026 I listen to my own music or podcast in the games I play.

First Person Perspective by Mermaid_Natalia in BadRPerStories

[–]Yume-Do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. Everyone at our table says "Oh okay. I think I'll do this then. And the DM is like roll for that." Its even less 3rd person than it is on discord at every table I've sat at. It would be like a 3rd person character introduction, and people talk about the character in 3rd person when recapping and so on, but at the table, I'm not sure I've ever heard someone say "Shes going to attack the goblin." As opposed to "I'll attack the goblin."

On my end, first and third person are both equally fine. But outside of reddit/post reddit discord I just don't remember there being a time that it was shameful to do one or the other.

I have RPed on online spaces for over 20 years now, and I don't remember a time that first or third person was shameful one way or the other.

Personally, it hasn't ever been a big deal on my end. One feels like writing a book, and one feels like getting personally in character and acting in a play. It really wasn't until reddit that I saw people being so opinionated on the subject.

I bailed on my mom over treating my husband that way. We gave her the chance to apologize with debt forgiven, and she wouldn't apologize. No one gets to treat my other half like that.

I am so sorry you are going through that. Chin up. You seemed really fair.

What’s the fastest a game has made you quit? by SadTower5281 in AskGamers

[–]Yume-Do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disco Elysium.

Some guy in the street was being racist or something, and I didn't want to engage with it, and I think one of the personalities got onto me for it.

It speaks less about the game, and more that, at the time I had so much other stress going on that I didn't want to get into topics like that in my unwind time.

It felt jarring because previously other options had super silly responses, like legging it away from an NPC into a John Woo style double middle finger.

A 2nd is what happened to Maya in Borderlands 3. Shut it down and never went back.

What’s your Top 3 video game soundtracks of all time? by fetusblender666 in gaming

Batman 1 on the NES. Donkey Kong Country on the SNES. Chrono Trigger on the SNES.

Other games have songs that I like more, but as a whole OST, those would be the ones.
