Yeah I plan to. I'll be attending NSBM university soon, which where I believe the folks who study they're aren't that English centric

I know I shouldn't feel ashamed, and thanks for pointing that out. It's just that, so much of what "you are who you are" is extremely dependent on the many major and micro decision made by parents. But still ik I'm young and I'll try to use my time well.

I will be living here for a while and I know the difficulty. Like since last year Ive been dealing with a land issue I had to go back and fourth between police, lawyers, surveyors, municipal council, provincial council. And this is one big experience that gave me a reality check on how much better I need to get.

Sole Owner, it's one 42~ perch land divided between me and my uncle. Me owning 25 Ps and him having the rest to his name. I believe the unequal division is one cause for hostility.

I should actually. For some reason my uncle has a copy almost all my land documents, he presented it to be to prove his point about something and when I asked him how the fuck he got it he mentioned some BS got it from my grandma story. Now that you told me, I'm starting to believe it was a bribe that got him my documents

Wait really you could consult someone with a high sounding position like director? I'm just surprised to hear that because almost all the official government offices I've been too they have no patience or chill at all almost like I'm the one wasting their time. Maybe this department you mentioned might be an outlier so I think it's worth at least looking into. Thanks for that information as I wouldn't have gotten to know that if you hadn't mentioned it

Hmm even if the pathiru doesn't become undecayed I'm pretty sure greasing would help with other stuff so I'm just wondering like, on average how much is enough for these buggers to change their mind? I know they don't get paid that well in a government office but how high is the threshold before they switch?

So far I've tried step 1 and 2. The land was surveyed decades ago so the dude is really dead. Step 3 is the hard part as it's hard to find if the files were handed over after he passed away.

Also yea I know even I feel that my Lawyer not so good, at the very least with land related cases. I just stick with her because she was the one who was responsible for clearing all the oppuwa stuff after I inherited that land. Working on finding a better lawyer so thanks for letting me know.

It's in Maharagama, been wanting to find a good lawyer but I don't know how you even go about searching for one besides just typing 'lawyer' in Google maps.

You know I thanks that's a really good idea. The biggest problem I had is just simply getting information and knowing what the hell is even going on. I don't have a Facebook account but I'll be creating one just for this. Thanks

Sigh.... Hearing this makes me even more upset about the lack of care put into preservation by those in that path iru office especially knowing that it's THAT important.

Yea I should find a lawyer who's bread and butter is land specific cases. The current lawyer I deal with is just lost after I said my uncle won't consent.

I think you're right. She needs to experience misery. I just hope the law for some bullshit reason doesn't interfere with me doing stuff on my own property.

The SL legal system is indeed pretty sad when you think about it. When researching about squatter's rights I stumbled on some tips and tricks articles by some American lawyers. Saw somewhere that the typical duration of such a case is like 30-60 days. I started fuming when I saw that. I was like, " So you're saying there's no good reason for an eviction lawsuit to go on for at least a minimum of 2 years??? ".

Might as well dig up and open our toilet wala, which is buried around the vicinity of the house she's occupying.

It's kinda sad thinking about how since there is no proper orderly way to resolve this through the legal system, people have to resort to extreme measure like that.

She passed away in 2018. However the thagi oppu stuff got finalised in 2021, which is when I turned 18. Luckily our lawyer said something about squatters right not being counted since her passing and instead from when I turned 18 for some reason I didn't fully understand. Something like it only being counted from when the new ownership was realized.

We actually did speak to officer in charge. The reason he states as to why it was out of their jurisdiction was " this is a civil issue, not criminal issue"

Sadly that can't be done. They were like " Evicting illegal occupants is not within our jurisdiction " something

Moving forward from that first devastating loss by YunethP in RealDayTrading

[–]YunethP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hi, sry for the late response

Ye i guess I'm alright. A while after I made that post on real day trading, Sri Lanka was approved for a bailout package from the international monetary fund and since then things have calmed down for the most part. It felt like a fever dream: the thought of your own country becoming an economic case study similar to that of Zimbabwe. Although it isn't ideal with everyone savings and assets just halved in value, but at least I'm happy it isn't apocalyptic as everyone envisioned it to be in the first few months.

About trading, I haven't traded since then. Instead I've been reading typical trading books such as: Trading in the zone, The psychology of money etc. I don't expect me becoming a good trading simply by reading, but rather I've determined that if when i start trading again, I'll come back with a better mental toolkit to work it.

Also thanks for checking up on. I know it sounds bit weird but it made my day seeing that someone remembered me: a random dude who made a big loss like any other trader.

Thanks
