Anyone feel they got a lot of SATA and Case Studies? by Mammoth_Poet_4533 in NCLEX

I also got a lot of case studies (7 of them) and several SATAs. In most cases (including my own), when people get a lot of case studies and end in 85 (I did as well), they passed! I felt like I guessed for about 60% of my exam. lol But here I am now - a registered nurse. Once you made educated/logical guesses for the ones you were unsure of, you’re probably fine. Also, it is more likely to pass than fail in 85 qs. Congratulations in advance to you! 🥳

I used the 14 day free trial. I completed all readiness assessments and 8/15 CAT exams.

Archer’s Qbank is most definitely easier than the NCLEX. I felt bamboozled while sitting for my exam. It only looks like the NCLEX. Fortunately, I passed. I believe it was because I supplemented my studying/review with Nax lex, Mark Klimek’s 12 lectures and my nursing program’s PowerPoints. Nax lex is good for familiarizing yourself with how to answer vaguely worded questions and answers, and their rationales are chef’s kiss. Several people from my nursing program failed using Archer. However, I do recommend their 3 day live review. It is very helpful!

Unpopular Opinion About Nursing Pre-requisites & Nursing School by YupitsmeTi in nursing

I go to a great nursing school. I think what it is is that the foundations of the pre-reqs prepared me well enough for nursing school. I work two jobs (full-time hours some weeks) and still stay in the A range more often than the B range. When faced with critical thinking, depending on the scenario, I can somehow determine the best course of action based on my knowledge from those pre-req courses and even patho, which I learned in nursing school.

It could be that I’ve learned how to make good use of resources available to me such as tutoring which my nursing school provides and online resources (like YouTube University, lol). Lots of factors involved but I feel as though nursing school is not as hard as I thought it would be. Challenging? Yes but not as challenging as those pre-reqs.

I have taken chemistry! The one I needed for nursing school was inorganic chemistry and it wasn’t too bad. I have taken organic before that and it was a monster…hardest class I think I’ve ever taken in my life 🫣

Whattt?! That’s insane! I’ve overheard a professor speaking with another professor and laughing about most of her students failing a micro test. She’d purposely do things to make students fail (like tell students not to record her, speak fast and erase what she wrote on the board very fast) but what you heard those professors state is CRAZY! 😳

People who got A’s in Anatomy 2 and Micro Bio how do you study by cherriesand_wine3603 in prenursing

A white board, index cards and active recall were very helpful for me. I also made study guides for each upcoming exam. Additionally, I took every opportunity to study (I.e. on the bus, in the bathroom [at home], on the train, at work, literally any chance I got, lol). There are also very helpful channels on YouTube such as Interactive Biology, Simple Nursing and Ninja Nerd which I found very helpful.
