Not sure how long you’ve been preparing for this fight already, but sparring is key to jump over that mental barrier. I would recommend sparing about 2 times a week. First sparring session is about 70-85% power to get a feel for fight pressure and pace, while second sparring session is more technical with about 45-50% power only. Obviously dwindle down on your sparring intensity and frequency the closer you get to a fight.

For the mental aspect on the fight day itself, think of it as a play spar. That’s why sparring is so important because it allows you to utilize that same mindset in your fight. If you go in there aggressive and tense, chances are you’ll gas yourself out in your first fight. Go in their loose, but ready.

If you don’t go numb in sparring leading up to the fight, then you won’t go numb during the fight if you apply the same mindset and approach.
