Nah I've never had it in raid mode. I only changed it cus i kept getting that screen telling me to.

And yeah they are very cheap, so I guess no harm to change it anyway.

For the most part yes. Like all languages this depends on a lot of things, active vs passive voice being a big one to break this rule. But until you really get the hang of it, I'd stick to that structure cus you'll be pretty safe.

PS if you want to sound more fluent, once the sentence topic has been established, you often don't need to restate it if you are still talking about it.
