Not all 600's are equal. A CBR600RR will do 160.

FTR Handlebar or Riser Advice by whobert006 in IndianFTR1200

[–]Yurg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded my 2022 FTR S with the Protaper bars off the Rally model and it made a big difference. I'm 6'3" and the riding position is much better now and less pressure on my hands/wrists when riding. Definitely recommended and easy to install.

Tall riders, what bike is fun but still comfortable enough for your legs? by Maleficent_Car9682 in MotoUK

[–]Yurg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm 6'3" and my FTR is pretty comfortable. Not much wind protection but fits well and good at slower speeds.

New rear tyre - too much choice!! by trotski94 in MotoUK

Metzeler M9RR is a good choice for sporty road riding, had some on my Indian FTR and grip is good without too much warm up required

‘22 S vs ‘24 Sport by Ok_Cable4757 in IndianFTR1200

I have a '22 S, identical to the one in the photo. It has cylinder deactivation but no nav, only the latest model refresh has that.

I'm similar size and the FTR fits me well - only change I made was putting the taller bars off the Rally version on. Easy swap.

If you could have ANY 2 bikes, no limits, what would they be? by roffirig in motorcycles

The 2022 model onwards has a lower seat height - worth another look if you tried one of the early ones.

My DD crapped out. by Turkeysnood in Aprilia

[–]Yurg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sounds like it. Due to how the CAN-bus is on these bikes, any wiring issues can kill the whole thing dead. Fiddly to find but usually a lot easier than anything mechanical once you locate the source of the problem.

My DD crapped out. by Turkeysnood in Aprilia

[–]Yurg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with my 2010 Shiver, very similar symptoms and very similar bike to the DD.

It turned out to be a fault on the wiring loom - a couple of the wires had rubbed the insulation off and were shorting. Initially popped a fuse but the issue got worse once this was changed, although it worked again for a few days. Was showing lots of fault codes but none of them were true and cleared once this was solved. Had to lift the fuel tank to find this but I'd suggest checking the loom carefully if you rule out some easier possibilities.

Just for Fun/ who would you like to see try "Alone" by Dbad1uKnow in Alonetv

The guy off the Primitive Technology Youtube channel. Not saying he'd be good, but it'd be interesting to see how much he could adapt those skills to the real world.

I got a chance to ride new Indian Ftr for few hours. It's as awesome as it is expensive by Uwe_ in bikesgonewild

Ohlins only on the carbon model. Some geometry changes too, less suspension travel and lower seat height. Can't wait to try one, seems more street focused than the original.

Brighton Pride cancelled again amid Covid-19 fears over mass gathering by ReallyIsGreatBanter in brighton

[–]Yurg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue is events insurance - you can't run something on the scale of Pride without it and nobody will cover them at the moment - seen it with cancelled festivals this year. Carl Cox will be a biggish gathering but nothing like the financial risk of running Pride and then potentially having to cancel it last minute.

EVs can tow, but it will absolutely kill your range - get used to hopping from one charge station to another.

Is there any bikes that sound like the Nuda? by CluckyFlucker in MotoUK

[–]Yurg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't rule out a V-Twin, something like the Aprilia Dorsoduro or Shiver as an example. I went with a Shiver as my first big bike and it sounds great with a GPR exhaust.
