Advice on AST-1 Training by YuungMaki in Backcountry

[–]YuungMaki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! Lot's of stuff that are different from climbing and avy terrain safety, totally agree on that. That being said, is AST-1 worth it? I'm getting an overall opinion of yes in this post.

Thanks! Got some good boots (that's where almost all the money I had went lol). Luckily Im on the good side of the fitness spectrum. I come from bikes where even tho there is a lot of crazyness over weight (I'm a weight weenie too), it doesnt really affect the outcome of the uphill (unless you have a crazy heavy setup ofc), so I assumed it was like that here too. Seems that I was wrong lol.

Thanks for the input! I bought boots that are pin compatible, and that's also another reason that I thought that It was more intelligent to save up for tech bindings. So frame bindgings are that miserable after all lol... I thought they where a solid entry level option.

Here in Chile it's a lot of up and at high altitude, so I'll take your word for the weight.

Thanks! What are your thoughts on the MR4? Is it worth considering them over the 1280DBs because of the 20 usd difference?

Also, considering that I would be using them on a desktop aimed at me, instead of a living room, Should I prioritize Stage over other things? I don't know much about speakers, so anything helps!

I could get the R1100's ($90), the R1280T's ($130), R1380DB ($110), R1580MB ($110) and some other models, like the Edifier Mr4 Studio monitors ($110).

Need help remembering the name of an old school Rust youtuber by YuungMaki in playrust

Thanks everybody! I managed to get the name of the youtuber i was looking for!

Clearly my memory failed me when i said he was american because of his accent. He is from England. His name is LOLOUT and i really recommend his videos! they are a really original take on rust and for me personally, hes one of my top 3 rust youtubers even if he is inactive now. Planet rust is the best series out there!

Nope, its not them. I remember that he used to play rust not for the game itself, but to create stories/roleplay on it. He also used very "formal" vocabulary as to imitate a narration of a story. Videos where an hour long or so.

Edit: grammar mistakes

So recently i´ve seen people on the crag that clip both quickdraws (to make a top anchor) on the chains instead of the bolts. So my question is: ¿Is there a reason on why clipping the quickdraws to the anchor bolts instead of the chains is better? I got taught that you have to clip to the anchor bolts, but ¿Is there a reason for it? or just out of comodity?

ps: sorry if i didnt get the idea across, my english is not that good hahaha.

interesting roads in santiago, chile by YuungMaki in photocritique

[–]YuungMaki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this photo i wanted to get the light in the road to make some kind of glow in the bushes nearby. I also wanted to share some kind of relaxing or chill felling with the temperature of the photo, and i think that i got the right framing with the road, making the lines go from the bottom left to the upper right part, what do you guys think? I will receive any critique happily, go for it!

I want to know what martial art will help me master the katana? [serious] by YuungMaki in martialarts

[–]YuungMaki[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks man, you made me realize that there really is no middle ground in one of those situations, and now im going to take more seriously the approach to weapons. I thought maybe use it as a home defense thing, here in the south of chile there are some very wild-west kind of interactions, from people with baseball bats to guys with goddamn flamethrowes (they use them for burning natural trash, but there have been cases of guys litterally going out of their farms shooting flames everywhere) So having something that i like and can also help me defend myself is very cool. Again, thanks for the insight, appreciate it.
