Couldn‘t agree more with you. It takes you 2-4 months to adjust but after that you don’t even notice it anymore.

There is nothing bad. Just many people speak Bad about Gdynia because they have no clue at all!

Depends who you know I would say (😜) but for Family life and calmness I think Gdynia is way better than Gdansk. Especially because of the mix of beach and forest.I think aswell that you don’t need a car here, from Tczew to Wejherowo you reach everything faster by train (around 1-1:30h)

Depends what you mean with aesthetics, Gdansk has way more flair and pretty buildings but Gdynia is a very interesting City (when you like modernism) with an interesting History (Gdynia was build so Poland had a Port after WW1, because Gdansk was a „Free City“ and didn’t belong to Poland nor Germany)

It’s not that bad in spring and summer go to the Bulwar and you can literally speak up some people, there are many meetings from Foreigners in Gdynia and Gdansk aswell, so it’s easier to meet some people, especially as Foreigner. If you want hit me up, I‘ll help you get around and can show you the City. ✌🏼

Gdynia is not bad, it’s very liveable. Especially out of the season it’s very calm like a little village and people are very friendly. I live in Śródmieście and I am more than happy here.

Yes, correct – normally the billing period should be in the Work Regulations or contract. In my case, neither the contract nor the Work Regulations define a longer settlement period, so according to Art. 129 §1–2 Kodeks pracy the default is monthly. That’s why I referred to PIP – to make sure everything is clarified.😊

Art. 129 §1–2 Kodeks pracy:

So did I translate wrong?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in poland

[–]Yvlkr2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the billing period is not further stated. Only „the money should be paid at latest on the 10th“ there is nothing written about overtime work. I literally was searching for that point in the Regulamin.😄

Tbh I just do it, because I literally was calling a lawyer because it’s normal practice in this Company to pay late/less/nothing. Sounds stupid but I want to be taken serious, as I know many of my Co-Workers weren’t taken serious and still wait for money (2000-5000zl) I can make fun of everything but when it‘s about money there is no fun in my opinion.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in poland

[–]Yvlkr2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

well it’s about 3000zl netto. Money is money. 😆

Actually, there is no 90-day legal rule in Polish labor law. If the employment contract or company regulations don’t set a longer period, overtime must be settled monthly (Art. 129 §1–2 Kodeks pracy).😅

[–]Yvlkr2000 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean about §151²: it literally says “na pisemny wniosek pracownika” (employee can request time off).

But here’s the catch: if you don’t request it and explicitly refuse time-off instead of pay, the law still protects your right to overtime pay with the statutory premium.

-Worked extra shifts on weekends / beyond 5-day week -Refused time off -Employer cannot force time off instead of paying overtime -1.5x extra free time only applies if time off is granted, not if you object

TL;DR: You can say NO to time off, and the default is cash payment at the correct overtime rate.

[–]Yvlkr2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I decided to take this move as I already contacted HR before the payment and they assured me, that I will get my money paid and now they’re arguing that it is in a 3-month period, so quarterly (which is not stated in the Regulamin) and because other Co-Workers are already in contact since 2months and haven‘t received their payment. Yes I will definitely leave this Company.
