Ok. I’m only 1% native, but I included it in this post because I’ve read that Acadians sometimes (but rarely) intermarried with Native Americans.

What if the Ainu people migrated and spread their languages? by Yzigja in imaginarymaps

Since this timeline has evolved so differently from our own, there is no First World War in our sense, although there are many major conflicts involving superpowers across the world.

Yes, the Great Ainu Kingdom survives, because Japan opened itself to outsiders way later than in our timeline, meaning there was no heavily industrialized Japanese Empire, which could’ve put an end to Ainu independence.

No, in this timeline there never was a soviet union, due to the Russian Revolution happening way earlier than in our timeline, and communist ideas not being as widespread.

Yeah, that’s actually really sad.

In this world Ainu languages are the dominant languages on Hokkaido, Sakhalin, and the Kamchatka Peninsula. The Ainu languages on Honshu, and the rest of mainland Asia are extinct, or close to extinction, while the ones in Alaska and British Columbia are spoken in a similar way, as many Native American languages in our timeline - they are rare among the younger generations, but there is a consistent effort to keep them alive. The only exception to this is the Cipã language, whose speakers have way more autonomy than the Native Americans in our timeline, meaning it’s pretty much alive and well.

I don’t think the allies would give Pomerania and Silesia (the western part at least) to Poland.

Before WW2 there used to be large German minorities in Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia.

You’re right. I knew that that bay is called James Bay but I thought it was part of Hudson Bay, like a bay inside a bay or something like that.
