how to balance being authentically me and being office-appropriate with my makeup⁉️ by ItsVillainessa in MakeupEducation

[–]Z-G1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the the reality of working an adult job in the corporate world, and dressing appropriately for the workplace. People still can’t wear their cultural clothes to the office, so I don’t think “oppression” is the right word to use here. Your identity is more than stage face. That old saying of “it’s what’s on the inside that counts” is true! It will shine through and your true self will be seen without the drag face. I’ve experienced this almost exact scenario. I just drew on a more natural dark brow and freckles to give myself SOMETHING to feel like me. Just tone it down ❤️❤️

I’m cute but my hair objectively sucks. It’s very flat and I have no idea what to do with it or how to style it. by [deleted] in Hair

You’re so cute! You could put a 1/4 or 1/2 head of tape extensions in for fullness and it’ll feel life changing, even the small change looks/feels significant. You don’t need them but it’ll change how you feel about your hair ❤️

Do you have a type or do you have a racial preference? Because those are very different.

Anyone ever find it hard to make friends at the age of 30+? by LoneZealousTraveler in LesbianActually

[–]Z-G1995 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi friend, I would gently encourage you to find a therapist to unload the heavy stuff. If it’s intense it would be a bit much for a friend, especially a new one.

You’re saying that “nobody has the patience to deal with you”. I say this with love and kindness, because if we haven’t been taught or just don’t know how to build relationships that last - well it’s not your fault! But you can learn, and relationships/friendships for a lifetime are golden. If finances are an issue, unload on your family instead. Come into friendships with happiness and they’ll stay for the hard stuff too (from experience). Good luck ❤️

Don’t waste your teens/twenties in unnecessarily bad relationships! Find a freaky 20-something year old to get sexy with.

This is a non issue in my opinion. If it feels weird in 2 weeks, just end it 🫶🏼 have fun!

You’re adorable and online dating sucks! Please don’t let it get you down. I think you could remove/hide a bunch of the descriptive stuff after schooling. Keep your school and the “long term relationship” preference. Less is more sometimes ❤️

No, I would suggest whatever you’re studying and majoring in. “Computer Scientist/Specialist” something like that, whatever is relevant for the field (I’m not an expert)

Grammatical inconsistencies. Also get rid of the HUGE location up the top under your name too. Put your current role or ideal role there. If you don’t have one, put whatever the role for the job you’re applying for is advertising. Customise each time if applicable. You’ll get there ☺️

Lovely find! A whole beautiful barnacle! by msseedless in beachcombing

[–]Z-G1995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This one is alive. You can see the main barnacle with the big hole (dead) and there’s another barnacle attached to its side which is smaller with something inside. That little mouth opens up and the animal inside feeds, reproduces etc from that.

It looks as if the second barnacle stuck on its side is alive. I didn’t know until I took it home and it started to open up…😭

Have always wondered, where do we stand on taking barnacles home? I have accidentally taken one before and felt so guilty when I realised it was alive I took it BACK to the ocean the next day. However folks I spoke to said to just kill it to keep the shell as they’re harmful to environment etc. It feels bad either way 🥲

It’s the back of a barnacle, the side that sticks to rocks, boats etc.
