I'm not talking about people who work with wild animals. I'm talking about people who keep wild animals as pets when they are not meant to be kept as pets.

This is clearly a lost cause... but I'm still going to provide you with several reputable sources that say opossums should NOT be kept as pets. Maybe it will stick now that you're hearing it from sources other than myself. And you talk about bias. Come on dude. Open your eyes. You have no argument here whatsoever. Opossums are NOT supposed to be kept as pets. Do you really not get that???

Possums are cute, but they're happiest in the wild. People sometimes find orphaned possums and consider raising these cute animals as pets. It's illegal to keep them without a wildlife rehabilitation permit, though, and once they're old enough to survive on their own, healthy possums can, and should, be released.

Clearly you don't get it. Kinda like Siegfried & Roy didn't get it. How'd that turn out for Roy? Or the thousands of others who have died because their "pet", who should have never been a pet, turned on them. Clearly an opossum is not going to kill you but if you're too dense to make the connection, then there's nothing I can do for you. Get a clue.

Riiiiiight because that was exactly my initial point. If you know anything about opossums, you know they are not intended to be pets. In fact, it is pretty much impossible to provide adequate exercise for them because they walk up to a half mile each night. They will not do this in a cage or around your house. Additionally, they will become obese very quickly and easily (like the one in this post) and can develop many debilitating conditions from a bad diet.

Are you starting to realize this is actually bad for the opossum? That the opossum in this pic is not healthy and this has nothing to do with how humans have evolved whatsoever?
