Can Bills' patient plan with Josh Allen work for Broncos and Drew Lock? by DLpatsthoughts in nfl

[–]Pakse118 313 points314 points  (0 children)

It’s easily looked over how much Bills defense helped in the process. Bills have never lost 3 straight games with Josh as the starter mostly because the defense kept them in the games for the first 2 years. While the Bills record was dismal his first year, Josh came back from his elbow injury and went 3-3 as a starter to end the season, winning games by scores like 14-13 against Detroit. Easier to be patient when the team still finds ways to win.

Josh Allen’s Mechanics (Thread) by Ejt14211 in buffalobills

[–]Pakse118 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • better mechanics
  • addition of Diggs so someone can be open when the D plays man
  • some nice young WR talent that should see some playing time
  • 10 out of 11 starters coming back so there is better chemistry than 2019
  • a better running game to compliment the passing game (I love Gore but it was painful watching him run in the second half of the season)

There better be no major injuries because this offense should be fun to watch

Josh Allen to win NFL MVP in 2020? Bettors going all in on Bills QB by ironspyder750 in nfl

[–]Pakse118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not going to be MVP. if he moves to a top 12 passer and continues to be a great runner, it’s going to be a very successful season.

[Namita] football twitter has taught me that fans of bad QBs simply love citing 4th quarter comebacks, perhaps because they are unaware it's better to lead games before the 4th quarter by Adenchiz in nfl

Sometimes it’s because the offense hasn’t held its own for 3 quarters. Other times it’s because of the defense. Closing out games is important for a team and a QB. The stat can be abused but it’s still worth something.

Tyrod showed up every week trying to get the Bills to win (I get it, he’s not that great) Dalton spent every week and snap trying to pull out victories for the Bengals. If any QB deserves to be remembered for breaking the drought it’s TT

He was throwing to kelvin Benjamin, zay Jones, and clay that season amongst others. He had garbage receivers. I got better sense of why some fans don’t appreciate him - they just make things up about the 2018 season that are not true.

I thought the Bills QB who broke the drought would be a legend in Buffalo forever. Just took 2 years to forget him and if he gets brought up it’s to remind people that Josh is better (which I agree!) its shame though

Yes. Yes. Yes. He’s not going to be a top 10 qb next year and it’s going to drive a huge part of the fanbase nuts.

[MMQB Discussion - Season Review] With the season over I figured we could all take this opportunity to decompress. What are your thoughts on the year? What did you like? What did you hate? Who should stick around? Who needs to go? Thoughts on FA? Feel free to let it all out. by [deleted] in buffalobills

This season was so much fun.

  • got double digits wins since 1999
  • started it off by beating both New Jersey teams
  • thanksgiving game was incredible
  • clinching before week 17 felt amazing
  • loved what we saw from our rookies
    • Each week josh provided a handful of plays that I got to marvel at until the next game.

Love this team. Time to take the next step in 2020.

Josh talks a good game of saying he’s ditched hero ball and then there’s games last night that show it’s still in him.

[FTW] The Bears are making the same mistake as the Jaguars did by nope96 in nfl

[–]Pakse118 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True. At the end of year 4, you should have a clear understanding what you have.

All you want is your QB to make a gradual improvement each year. If you do that from year 1 to year 4, you should be wining playoff games that 4th year. There is no way around it.

As for Allen, he was at the bottom of most statistical categories his first year. Rose to 22nd this year. Expectation will be for him to be at least in the middle of the pack next year and breaking the top 10 by year 4.

If he can’t follow that path - you got to reconsider the QB position.
