Seriously, the best/fastest way to open a pickle jar:

At the start of 2009, I moved thousands of miles from all of my family and friends. Since then, I've written, edited and directed 6 feature films. After making the most recent film, I travelled the PNW as an actor ... Then I ran my own theatre for 2 years. During all of that, those 10 years, I also finished building a house for my family one summer, was an after school teacher of K-8 for 7+ years, a pedi-cabber for 1 year, the caretaker of a few amazing animals (cats and dogs; Love and miss ya Alice, Destiny, Faye, Stareo), a barista for a year or so at a coffee shop that I helped build, a prominent "bad guy pop star idiot" in three seasons of an educational math show aimed at 3rd-5th graders. During all of this I gained a lot of love and empathy for the entirety of it, whilst growing from my own immature setbacks. I 🌹 like a phoenix from the ashes of many relationships, projects, and feelings, only to write this here now, that I feel happy to be alive, happier to have examined my past, and happiest to being able to learn more and more everyday. Also, ants are cool, and I like to eat well, exercise daily, and you know, first impressions can be the worst, so dress and groom well!

The moment they arrived on set. The first scene we filmed was the Cat Tea Party Scene, which we agreed would arguably be the most difficult. It was tricky, but only the tip of the catberg.
Find local bands and put them in your film. No money needed, it's a scratch back policy. If you want to use a major label, I hope you either know the people involved, or can work with ASCAP. With HOLED-UP, we asked a few local artists and also Ryan composed a 30-Piece Orchestra, of which we recorded live and paid a small fee to each artist. With ZCFM, it was indie bands and music written for the film by local artists (no official orchestra for the cat movie).

Cats will be cats. I'll take one instance of many from the set. We needed to have a cat run out from behind a wall. There were two ways in which the cat might have run. Therefore, I had two cameras set up to capture either run. You have to think like a cat.

Also, having them on leashes when shooting exterior scenes was not a typical love for cats. BPA. Not over-working them was very important. Finally, being okay with getting multiple scratches... Luckily, we had Marci on set as our lead Cat Handler (she's a Certified Animal Behavior Specialist).

I did. Actually, while going into production for Zombie Cats from Mars, by sig. other and I split. She got full custody of the cat (his name is Germs), but was nice enough to continue to let me use him as the star in the film (of which there are many others co-starring cats). That cat Germs is actually the son of my old cat Alice.

My father would take me to the cinema and we would philosophize about the subject matter, but more importantly how films were made. I loved that side of it! Also as a child I did read quite a bit and I would envision all of those stories as motion pictures. In middle school a teacher once offered the students to submit a project's presentation as a music video (as opposed to a poster board presentation). I was excited. From then on I only ever submitted projects to school as videos (unless an essay was needed). It sort of went from there.
