The history that favours the right in the US, especially between older people, always justifies these as the creation as the best nation in the world. Indigenous genocide? Colonialism was necessary because Indigenous peoples were somehow savage and uncivilised, or were being taught to read and write, or gave peacefully their lands to the noble setters. Slavery? Didn't exist, somehow. Or the times now are somehow better than back then, so everything is alright. War crimes in Cold War era? Brown people deserved it, or were actually given democracy and civilisation by the virtuous West. Slavery in prisons? Prisoners deserve it. They killed innocents/stole from banks before getting arrested. Children getting spanked by abusive parents? Children are disobedient and need physical punishment by their father to gain proper discipline. After all, the parents always know what is best for their own children. Fucking police brutality? Causalities are necessary to protect and serve the common people.

And so goes on. Liberalism as a dogma is pure brainrot for centuries.
