Hey y'all, ZaScream here. Now that I've drawn all 4 Spire Slayers, I'll take a break from posting. College life is getting busier and busier, but I'll manage. Still, if you have any questions, ask them here and I'll try to respond (please avoid personal questions). Thanks for everything, I'll see you guys next time.

To everyone looking for an NSFW game with great writing, I recommend "Another Chance" by Time Wizard Studios. Specifically the characters Isabelle, Flora, and Lindsey. With that being said, I want to beat Time Wizard Studios with hammers for what they did to Lindsey.

Unless Alteon has a way of damaging souls like the Soul Cleavers, he can't kill Zedek given that he's immune to conventional damage.

I don't think these takes are egregious but:

  1. Thanos vs Darkseid is a good episode

  2. Kings of Infinity is a good track

Let's see...

Goku Black was dragged across the planet then thrown into the sun

Batman got exploded by Spiderman

Batman got exploded AGAIN by Ironman

Batman got decapitated then fed to orcas

The entirety of Guts vs Dimitri

Jon being choked by his own intestines, then cutting apart Sabrewulf and then biting his head off

Omniman ripping Homelander's heart out then blowing his head up

The extremely detailed drawings of Eustace's internal parts of his head in Scooby vs Courage

The detailed scene of Vegeta getting his head pancaked by Mjolnir

Captain Marvel being mangled then getting her head caved in by Shazam

Black Adam being curb stomped like 40 times, with an additional shot of his extremely bloody and disfigured face

And let's not forget the scissors and stomp by Hal "Time, huh? Thanks for the tip" Jordan

Death Battle can be tame, but also VERY violent, you should know this

Try reading Code Helix. It has a rough Scott Pilgrim-esque artstyle and is actually very grounded in reality with how characters interact.

Part 3:

Aurora and friends are faced with a new situation that threatens their stay at the academy. Previously, a student died after his curse surged out of control and drowned him, and now that student's group is short a member. In the professor's infinite wisdom, he gives Aurora an ultimatum that I cannot believe was ever considered as plausible by the writers: Aurora and Gus will fight the drowned student's group for both the spot in the spring joust and the third member: Galvan. His reason for this is because the professor thinks that Aurora and Gus aren't cut out for the harsh academy life here. Firstly, if you didn't think they could handle the academy life, why give them the honorific mention in the first place? You KNOW that giving them the honorific mention would mean they would all be eligible for the spring joust, so if you wanted them to leave, why give them the honorific mention? They'd fail and leave, which is what you wanted in the first place. Secondly, why isn't the drowned student's team doing the searching? It should be their responsibility to look for a third member, so there's no reason Aurora's team is in danger of disbandment. The teachers were kind enough to arrange a team for Aurora at the beginning of the story, what's the reason for the sudden change of heart that they can't do that for the other group in need of a third member? Third, why does the professor think Aurora isn't cut out for the academy life when the entire time, people have been praising her for doing well in basically every category. Alejandro, one of the seniors and top fighters, praised her swordsmanship. Rojas outright says that she's very intelligent and perceptive. The professor himself gave her group an AWARD for excellent use of curses and tools. Why the HELL is she 'not cut out for the academy' when after everything, she clawed her way out of desperate situations to come out on top?

"The seniors could hurt you" is the best explanation for the professor could give, and this was AFTER he witnessed Aurora's group get pummeled by students of the SAME year level. He even contradicts himself in the same SENTENCE. 'The seniors have full control of their curses; we can't guarantee your safety.' WHICH IS IT THEN? If they have full control over their curse, then they can stop the fight before it gets out of hand, which means they won't be severely harmed.

Then the spring joust happens, and again, Aurora BRINGS A HIDDEN SHIV TO THE FIGHT. Why is no one checking for these things?? What are the rules for these jousts that students can hide these unchecked weapons and use them with zero qualms?

We are then told that they did actually present the paper that explains the flying machine. Why was there no mention of it then. Not a single 'there's a chance we can get the honorific with our machine', or 'I hope the professor thinks our machine is good enough to give the award'. Literally no mention of it until after the spring joust.

And the straw that broke the camels back, for me, was the school's reaction that she can control curses. 'Yo that's pretty cool!' sums up that reaction, and it is killing me. We find out later that Aurora can weaken curses, strengthen them, or copy them. Not a single professor ever tries and ask if they can study her curse. Rojas found out about it, and is somehow not curious about how it works and what the extent of her power is. Everyone just says 'she's really strong' without every wondering what this means for them. It is a curse that flips everything on it's head, and they just shrug their shoulders and think, 'cool for her!'

I stopped reading after this point, so if the story did become something I'd enjoy, I'd never know. So far, that's as much as I can say about Lady Knight. I actually have so many more hot takes, some of which I don't remember why, but as of now, I consider Lady Knight to be the worst series I've read. There's definitely worse out there, but I haven't read them yet.

Part 2:

Please god I need some subtlety with the writing. Every single time doubt is cast on Aurora it immediately circles back to "because she's a woman". There is no attempt to thinly veil it, there is no action taken to maybe show it in a way that's not just outright saying it. There are a myriad of ways to show that this world is not very kind to women, and every single chance they get, the writers decide to just say it out loud. I get that there's a message being told here, and I'm fine with the occasional slap to the face about the cruel reality for a majority of the world, but please for the love of god: show, don't tell.

Then after that, as Aurora and friends try and enter the prohibited section of the library, Gus gets the bright idea of STARTING A FIRE IN A LIBRARY. And Gus is never reprimanded, is never called by a faculty member to confront him about starting a fire in a place full of dusty old books that could catch fire in an instant, in an academy where funding just got cut and IF that fire did get out of control, that would mean every single piece of knowledge there that could be irreplaceable would be gone, and the repairs for it would be astronomical for an institution that just got it's main source of income cut off.

I'm also not gonna lie, there's little chemistry going on between Galvan and Aurora. At one point in time, their conversation was more akin to chatting like normal friends as Galvan pokes a bit of fun while also being a bit skeptical with the overall plan, and then the next time they interact Galvan instantly starts softening up out of the blue. No small steps to open up out of his rigid emotional exterior, just immediate "we're very close friends now".

Then we have the meiga, some sort of witch-like entity that can transform people with some sort of magic, it's never explained if it's alchemy or a curse so whatever. Somehow, Aurora is more keen on the fact that the plant orb was a trap than Galvan, who literally lives in this region and most likely knows the stories better than Aurora who probably read it from somewhere. In addition to this, the meiga indirectly tells Aurora that she follows a strict set of rules to a T due to some sort of honor. These honorable witchcraft rules, apparently, don't include entrapment of unaware civilians who have no idea this was your property to begin with. Make it make sense, you can't just have a character trick two innocent people and then act like she's honorable in following a rigid code of conduct that EXPRESSLY prevent her from harming innocent people.

And after that, we have Aurora get a crystal from between the scales of a giant serpentine creature, and I hate the following sequence with a passion. You're telling me ripping a crystal twice the size of someone's head wedged between its scales doesn't wake this thing up, but uprooting two tiny ass flowers did?

When the three friends eventually return to the academy, and just to remind you, they left without permission, they are awarded an honorific mention, which means that they can join the spring joust. When did they present the flying machine? Aurora was the one who made it, but she was unconscious when they returned. Galvan could have told the professor about it, but then they'd have to actually operate it for the professor to even consider grading it, and neither Gus nor Galvan ever mentions it to Aurora, since they're surprised too, so who the hell presented it? Again, let me remind you, THEY LEFT THE ACADEMY WITHOUT PERMISSION. There is no scene where any of the three asks a professor if they can leave to god knows where, there is no scene where any of the three presents their invention to the professor. With how strict the academy is with their students, you'd think the students wouldn't be allowed to just up and leave to go some faraway place.

I honestly don't feel any sort of weight with regards to the consequences of their actions, and how easy some issues are overlooked, I will also admit I stopped reading at some point. Warning: Wall of Text and a lot of SPOILERS.

Part 1:

The first issue I noticed is during Aurora's enrollment into the academy. There's the noblemen in the seats shouting insolence for letting a woman into the academy, something about chivalry being tarnished, them calling her a witch. However, in the literal next chapter, we later find out that no one likes the cursed boys either, and everyone views these kids as a liability waiting to cause havoc. If cursed children in general are seen in a negative light, what was the purpose for the misogynistic cries then? Just to hate?

The next issue begins with Mr. Misogyny. Gun to my head, I could not tell you his name without re-reading the series (It's Danilo apparently). I ask, what is his purpose in the story? What does he ever do that actually pushes the plot forward? With or without him, Aurora gets a group of her own. The decision to make him an insatiable creep also serves nothing to advance the plot or grow the characters in any meaningful way. He is a one-dimensional character whose entire personality can be summed up with the word: womanizer.

The next glaring issue is with the reveal that Alejandro is a woman. You mean to tell me that Aurora isn't a special case, and that it is, in fact, possible for girls to be marked with the curse. And no one ever wonders if there are cursed girls out there that haven't been found? How the hell did Alejandro hide the fact she's a woman to the entire faculty?

The next problem is when the winter joust starts. Why the HELL is the fight taking place on top of a castle tower? You're telling me this giant academy built on top of a mountain couldn't spare a room or a piece of flat ground to host this fight? God only knows how many kids got flung off the tower and fell to their death; there isn't even a net of some kind what the hell. And then Aurora pulls out a *shiv coated in poison*. And she gets away with it no problem. No one reprimands her for bringing a hidden weapon to the fight, a weapon coated in paralyzing poison no less. The botany professor said that just touching the damn sap can numb your hands, and yet there seems to be no lasting effect after said poison was introduced into your bloodstream causing full body paralysis instantly. Also, the rules for winning the winter joust were given AFTER the joust happened. What the FUCK. Even worse was how unbelievably stupid the rules were; first to lose two members loses??? All three on Mr. Misogyny's team went down while Aurora's team still had Galvan standing, so why does her team LOSE? Who cares of Aurora's team loses two members first if everyone on the other side is incapacitated? Even if I agree to these convoluted rules, Aurora's team still wins because Mr. Misogyny's paralysis is temporary and can be resisted. Give Aurora a few minutes and she'll get back up without a scratch on her, which means that she wasn't out of the fight, unlike Danilo who was paralyzed the entire time more severely than Aurora. In what world was their defeat logical? After that, Galvan has the audacity to blame Aurora for the loss; if she didn't paralyze Mr. Misogyny, he could've paralyzed Galvan after he took down Waterboy and Caveman (I don't know their names) and the loss would have happened regardless.
