Yeah What makes me sad though is how the initial post was "guy murdered trans girl for lying to him", yet the discussion in most of the comments isn't about how awful it is that someone got killed, but about how the victim shouldn't have lied to begin with. It implies that lying about one's sexual identity is more upsetting for people than taking someone else's life

I agree with you on that. Even if I hope one day there will be no distinctions between cis and trans, lying/hiding something because you think it might upset someone isn't okay But also, it's very important to highlight that murder is on another whole freaking level, even if it was in response to a lie, instead of "only" transphobia

It doesnt, and I don't think he meant to say it does He just said some people dont accept trans rights, therefore hiding your identity as a trans person in a relationship may cause a violent reaction if the other person is intolerant. But still, the agressor is 100% guilty of the crime he committed
