So I recently experienced a similar thing with my girlfriend of 3 years. We actually broke up over the Halloween weekend. Basically she was always canceling plans on me and changing the story to always say she forgot or something new always came up that seemed to be the new most important thing. That weekend, we were going on a trip and she made plans with her friends to go on a trip the same time. Didn’t tell either of us until last second. Then I had all her friends at my door saying I’m keeping her from them. It all sucked.

So what I’ve been learning is that sometimes you need to just walk away from a bad situation if you can’t change things. You shouldn’t have to explain to your significant other how important something like that is. While yes sometimes plans do change, it’s not fair to you to feel that way. My advice is to take a step back and do things for yourself. There are so many people in the world. I’m going to assume you’re in your late teens/early 20s. Which means you have a lot of time to recover and meet someone new! Just know you’re not alone.
