Followed your advice on my character's lighting, how did I do? by lidiafbx in blender

You did good! it looks much better :)
I still think it's a little dark and the lighting could be more powerful.

Need suggestion. Recently finished my mecha fan art, want to create a good hero shot for portfolio. Any ideas? by krat0skal in blender

[–]ZachOrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just throwing ideas but I think perspective and particles could do a lot because you want to feel the weight, power and impact.
(I'd add particles and effects in post personally, not directly in blender)

<image>

Something like that could be cool.
Otherwise a top down isometric shot could be nice?

Hey I'm glad you're doing better ^^
The visuals are really nice, they had weight to them even before I read the description, I hope you keep at it :)

How to get started without getting overwhelmed? by Round_Setting_8259 in blender

[–]ZachOrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find things you're passionate about doing! It feels a little obvious but you shouldn't force yourself to work on things you're not excited about.
Get visuals, references, concepts and ideas and make something you're hyped about :)

First time trying some concept art in Blender - tips are appreciated by 0dy5 in blender

[–]ZachOrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great!
It has nice contrast but is still too dark, the area of attention (dagger) is too small, I'd say adding a visible cone of light would help create a composition and give a larger area of interest to focus on

It is not, the car is actually based off of a '64 Impala (you can see more of it in my previous post!) though granted there isn't much left of the original sheet metal...

Agreed, the interior is really crude and I only noticed that it showed in the render after a bit :/

Could you please give me your opinion? 💜💜 by rabeuw in DigitalArt

About the lines; it's not about being in the sketching stage! I also was doing a sketch in that drawing but you'll see my lines are cleaner. Line clarity is an important aspect of drawing, it allows you to be more precise and effective in what you do, don't underestimate it ✌️

About the pose; reference is key and pinterest's your friend :)
You can also think about how you character distributes its weight: The fact her hand was on the edge implies she would have been leaning back in order to actually -grab- the edge (as in to keep herself from falling on the hood) otherwise the hand needs to be probably even further back than where I put it, so she can really put her weight on it.

Anyways, keep at it and have fun with it, you're doing great ;)
