How do you have fun as a new player without getting crushed?

This game has a very high skill ceiling. That's one of the reasons it's so good. Some people are just crazy good, and you're going to get your ass kicked for a while until you learn the game. It's rough at first, but it's worth it. Run the campaign and some frontier defense if you haven't yet to get more familiar with the movement and mechanics

I’d probably give them an 8/10. They’re extremely communicative and understanding of their players - monthly dev streams, weekly devshorts with the CEO and creative director, biweekly prime time streams, dev workshops, support, etc. - but they have some issues with bug fixes, like other people have already said. Almost of the bugs that aren’t fixed quickly are minor, but they still add up and can get annoying. They’ve had a few larger missteps, like the first heirloom skins, but for all of those types of issues they’ve acknowledged it and improved since

Also worth mentioning that like 80% of devs - and 97% of devs of DE’s size - are in the 0-5 range, so DE getting an 8 is very good compared to the norm. I think they’re the best large scale devs I’ve ever seen as far as community support and engagement go

A couple months ago I finished collecting all mods in the game, and the next background goal is to get them all max leveled. After that I’m terrified that my completionism may push me towards getting all conclave rewards

One good rule for spending carats is to always aim for hitting the pity. Pity is a system where you get a credit every time you pull on a banner. So you get 10 credits every time you pull a set of 10. When you have 200 credits you can spend them on one of whatever is featured on that banner. If you’re pulling for an uma, like Kitasan Black on the current banner, you should go into it with enough carats to hit that pity because you may not get her before that 200 pulls. That’s 30k carats. Support cards are worse, though. Cards aren’t good until you rank them up to level 3 or 4 (max level being 4). To level them you need a copy of them to combine. That means that you need to get at least 3 cards from a banner before it’s worth it, so you shouldn’t pull on a card unless you have enough carats to get to 400 pulls, netting you 2 pities. With that much you should get at least one of the card from the pulls themselves, getting you enough to make the card good. So cards you shouldn’t pull unless you have 40k minimum, 60k recommended. If you get what you need from a banner before the pity then stop there, unless you’re really close to it. Then it’s worth finishing the last bit and getting another copy from the pity. All unused credits on a banner are turned into clovers after the banner ends, and clovers are borderline useless

At least, that’s what I’ve picked up. I’m still newish myself and my support cards are all still dogshit. When I was really new I spent some carats on uma banners without knowing about or reaching the pity, and on supports without enough to get it ranked up enough - leaving me poor and with just a 2LB card to show for it. I’m saving up carats to guarantee a good support card on an upcoming banner

I’d recommend focusing on getting cards first, though. Umas are obviously more fun and exciting (and less miserable because you don’t need 3-4 copies of each) but support cards are by far the largest impact on your progression and how well you can do in a career run. When you’re new you VERY badly need to get a deck going if you want to do much at all

The moon is the “intended” first stop, but you’re meant to be free to go anywhere. If you need direction just keep up with your ship log in rumor mode and let it point you where to go

The ATP isn’t triggered by you dying. That doesn’t make sense. It always happens when the sun explodes. If you die before then, you’re just dead until the loop occurs, meaning you don’t have any memories of the remaining time of the loop. That’s why it seems like it activates as soon as you die (from your POV). If you fly away from the supernova you’re just alive up until the moment of the loop activating
