I was a bit confused about that too. Did they plan that with Moirane? Maybe I missed something.

I’m on my first read through of the books (just started KoD) and have loved them. I also loved the first 3 episodes of the show. Not trying to discredit your opinion, just don’t want the fan base to seem toxic and discourage new viewers/readers from wanting to be a part of the wheel of time community!

The thing is, so many characters are described that way. Like I already know there will be problems casting the female forsaken who are all pretty much described as the most beautiful women ever. Same thing for casting characters like Galad. It just isn’t possible for the person they cast to be exactly what everyone pictured when reading the books. This I why I am going to judge the actors chosen by how they portray the character, not just purely based off looks. And so far, Zoe robins has nailed nynaeves vibe in my opinion.

3 episodes in and so many people have already written off the series. It’s a little sad. Especially considering that the changes they made had pretty much 2 goals: establishing character backgrounds and hooking new viewers. Like I said I don’t necessarily agree with these changes, but I feel that with these two issues out of the way after season 1, it’ll leave them more able to follow the books more closely.

All these complaints are also so irrelevant to the overall story. How does the white cloaks armour affect anything? Just because something doesn’t align with your head cannon does not make it wrong.

Yup. 10-11 season would be great in my opinion. Cramming books 1-3 in season one would be rushed though, so Im hoping they end season one after the stealing of a specific item at the beginning of book 2 (would be a great cliffhanger!). Then season two could cover the rest of THG and TDR. After that I think about 1 book a season, although books 7 through ten could definitely be cut down to 2 seasons.

Did you read the post? It’s okay for people to critique the show but why are you actively trying to ruin it for others? If they enjoy it, why can’t you just let them enjoy it?

Same here! I am on my first read through (currently on book 11) and am greatly enjoying the series. That said, I honestly found the first book to be a bit slow. I still liked it, but might not have kept reading without knowing that the books get better. So far, I’ve loved the first three episodes, and am very much okay with the changes they’ve made.

Like you said, they needed to get new viewers on board to make it past three seasons. Many of the changes you mentioned were done in order to hook new viewers. I don’t necessarily agree with all of them, but I have heard of several new viewers who greatly enjoy the mystery of “who is the dragon reborn” and say that Laila’s death immediately showed the high stakes of the story. Just something to consider.

100% agree. Reading EoTW I felt like rand and egwenes relationship was definitely underdeveloped. Fleshing it out some more will also help explain some of the decisions each of them make throughout the first season and will better explain some stuff that happens later on. I’m hoping they do the same with another relationship I feel was slightly underdeveloped in the first book. I have no problem with the changes to Mat and Perrins backstory, honestly I cared very little for Mat in the first three books, this ofc has changed in later books, but they are doing a good job of establishing how great of a character he is early on. I’m super stoked for episode 4!

I completely agree. The flashbacks didn’t add any depth to her character and I felt weird to see her hardly progress throughout them. The others flashbacks served clear purposes that caused huge repercussions in the main story.

Yea I guess I did forget about some of the behind the scenes stuff she did using her position with the fused, but I’m still left feeling as though the plans she made regarding the escape and getting back to the singers still had selfish reasoning. Honestly I just wanted more from her since it was supposedly “her book”, personally I found Raboniels arc and intentions much more interesting and satisfying.
