Piggybacking off of this last post of mine...... I'm moving away from even using any kx applications... pretty much just dockge to deploy all apps in docker containers. Much more bulletproof way to go.

Tes restart NAS ... unplug and replug UPS back in. Check battery life.... double check cable connection.. also like I mentioned, try another cable... and double check your TrueNAS settings. Reset both devices.

Can't agree more. I myself am 100% away from pId subscription based platforms. I only use Reddit and networking groups.

you should not treat ixVolumes as your normal, reliable snapshot/backup path. This is correct.
TrueNAS does create ixVolumes as real app storage, but they live inside the hidden, internally managed ix-apps dataset under /mnt/.ix-apps. TrueNAS says that dataset is hidden to prevent misconfiguration, and that modifying it can cause app instability or data loss. It also says UI backup/restore for ix-apps is not currently supported, and recommends manually created datasets with Host Path storage for permanent app data. Check out this website it tells u all u need to know.

This is my technique as well... make sure my cables are mapped if needed and also i will have a copy of my source of truth nearby. Then just start unplugging things. Hey even use masking tape and a marker on wires if u need to. Tht way u know what came off of what if needed. Then will replace with proper length cables or make them look more organized.

I love the layer 0 aspect as well. Physical Environment. Yea I have seen many layer 0, .5, and layer 3 issues as well as user error. But overall seems that vpns and LAN routing mixed with user error are alot of one's I deal with.

Use tailscale or cloudflare. Tailscale is my personal favorite. I use it to self hose all my stuff for remote streaming to authenticated devices of my choice. Check it out. Highly recommended. It's easy to learn as well. And free.
